Some of the wonders do not hide in inaccessible places, do not flaunt their rare appearance, or invent a condition to be noticed. They just walk around the world, every day, and every night, and it only takes a little luck for you to meet…
Last night luck was with me, and I managed to take some interesting pictures of the rainbow."The usual rainbow" - you say, but no, it's a night rainbow. Appeared in the darkest hour over the waters of the protected lake.
But maybe my argument is in vain, yet this is not such a rare phenomenon. Just the refraction of the sun's rays in billions of billions of microscopic particles of water. And even the time of its appearance is associated more with the movement of the sun at our latitude than with some kind of magic. After all, on a polar day, the sun stops between the horizon and the cloud line for quite a long time, and rainbows are a frequent occurrence here.
But let's try to add a pinch of magic and look at it through the eyes of people who are not overloaded with the knowledge of civilizations. In Sami mythology, one of the main good gods is the thunder god Ayeke. He has many names, but they all try to imitate the sounds of thunder. According to beliefs, Ayeke fights evil spirits, and will do this until the end of time, punishing them with lightning arrows and striking with his mighty hammer.
Does it remind you of anyone? That's right, this is our old Scandinavian acquaintance Thor (so popular today), and this is not surprising. After all, from time immemorial, the Sami and Scandinavian peoples lived side by side and their cultures were subjected to mutual influence.
Let's return to the rainbow, which in this light is not just a physical effect, but a weapon of an ancient god who protects humanity from evil. After all, the rainbow is the bow of the god Ayeke, with which he can more accurately defeat evil spirits.
Therefore, seeing this rainbow at night, I want to believe that I see how a formidable god of ancient times is preparing for a fierce battle with evil in the sky and is already pulling the string on his bow…
