I hope everyone is doing well and taking beautiful photographs.
Armação do Pantano do Sul is a small fishing village in the south of the island of Santa Catarina.
I talked a little about it in my first post.
For those who don't follow me, Armação was the last whale hunting post in South America to close its activities in the early 60's.
Today, it continues its activities with artisanal fishing, the main source of income for the native population.
At the beginning of the 90's the tourist movement grew, which added a new source of income during the summer season.
The village is located in the south corner of the beach, where a small river separates it from the neighboring beach and provides a small bay with refuge for fishermen's boats and calm waters where families can take their children.
The beach extends to the north in a strip of coarse sand, dunes, sandbanks (native vegetation) and rougher waters where surfing is also possible.
Having lived there for many years, witnessing the development of the place, and being the place where my son was born (@nicolas.carreiro, co-founder of @photocracy) I have great affection for this beach which is already an important part of my life.

Espero que todos estejam bem e fazendo belas fotografias.
Armação do Pantano do Sul é uma pequena vila pesqueira no sul da ilha de Santa Catarina.
Falei um pouco dela no meu primeiro post.
Para os que não me seguem, Armação foi o último posto de caça de baleias em Sulamérica a encerrar suas atividades no início dos 60´s.
Hoje continua suas atividades com a pesca artesanal, principal ingresso da população nativa.
No início dos 90 's cresceu o movimento de turistas, o que acrescentou uma nova fonte de ingressos durante a temporada de verão.
A vila é localizada no canto sul da praia, onde um pequeno rio a separa da praia vizinha e proporciona uma pequena baía com refúgio para as barcas dos pescadores e águas tranquilas onde as famílias podem levar suas crianças.
A praia se estende para o norte numa faixa de areia grossa, dunas, restinga (vegetação nativa) e águas mais agitadas onde também é possível a prática de surf.
Tendo morado ali por muitos anos, presenciando o desenvolvimento do lugar, e sendo o lugar onde meu filho nasceu (@nicolas.carreiro, co-fundador de @photocracia) tenho enorme carinho por esta praia que já é parte importante na minha vida.
