“It is difficult to make a man miserable while he feels worthy of himself and claims kindred to the great God who made him.”
― Abraham Lincoln
Howdy, it's great to see you!
This week has started amazing with lots of new knowledge, working on myself, planning for weekend, upcoming extended weekend in two weeks and upgrades, lots of them.
First I would really like to Thank each and everyone for the amazing, outstanding support you gave me as it gives extra spice of motivation, helps out bring new imagination, better quality content and pushes me, to try and make even better post the next time.
Real respect goes to all curating teams with scouts looking for soo many content creators, all their hard work, dedication, and their help to improve the quality.
Thank you very kindly, you are amazing!
As you liked my previous post about my mothers 'new' red Golf I figured you would love to hear more about it. I'm still really proud of my mother and truly grateful to be able to help her out buying a car, that she enjoys more and more by every day.
Service and inspection
On Friday I visited an old friend and made myself a much needed service with oil change and also replacing all other filters. Saw the condition of the car underneath. As I let old oil drain I started replacing air filter, then a cabin filter, decided that fuel filter will be replaced in the winter time as that's the best way to do it.
Then changed the oil filter and poured 4.5l of 10W40 in it to make it run smooth as butter again. When the car got to the ground I checked if everything was alright, started it, checked the oil level two times and so the service was done.
We had beautiful weather early morning on Sunday and we packed everything with my mother, to take the Golf on a road trip, finally. You probably know now that my mother looves to collect blueberries, she has been collecting them out in the woods ever since she was a little girl, over 60 years ago.
We went on top of 1400m high mountain where the true test for Golf began. It got to the top without any problems, temperature stayed at 90 and we barely used any fuel, even though we made around 100 km before we reached our destination.
The air up there is amazing, fresh and collecting blueberries is almost like some sort of meditation. You need to be focused, fully present in the moment, while breathing amazing fresh air.
After about 3 hours we went to the car and started heading back down as it looked like it will rain soon. When we got back down I quickly jumped in a nice refreshing river Savinja and we continued the journey on our way home.
We also found some edible mushrooms we later had for dinner, they were amazing reward on top of everything, to end a really nice, quality day spent with my amazing mother.
Upgrades
Yesterday I found almost too good to be true add on a set of 16" rims that were made specially for Mk4 Volkswagen Golf.
Went on a 20 km trip to pick them up and change the wheels at the spot. Had car jack and everything needed with me, that I borrowed.
The wheels aren't new, do have scratches but most importantly they have almost fresh tires on them. Tires are Nokian Wetproof with over 7mm of thread and were made in 14th week of 2021 (DOT1421). Went to check and also get them because the price was cheaper than the tires alone and this way mother will be safer on the road on summer days and winter tires will be preserved for those harsh, cold Winters.
On my way back I stopped at castle Velenje for the first time in my life. It is beautiful, well preserved / reneved, really big and has nice view all around it. Was a bit late to see it all as they were already closing it by the time I got there.
Then I went back home, visited good old friend @shakazula , another Mk4 owner and ended a great watching sun go down with a nice cold lemonade.
Thank you for taking time to read, I wish you a good day or a good night and a good life.
