Lets take a look at raves. Rave 258 for recently finished after 5 days and paid out 71 swap.hive in total and 1.3million starbits in prizes. I personally walked away with 0.057 swap.hive and 32,475 starbits and as i only have 520 fans to send i think that's a great return.
Prizes for raves are calculated on an "adjusted fans" figure which is calculated based on number of fans you send to the rave and the length of time you were there (i.e. earlier you enter the better), my adjusted figure for rave 258 was 1428 fans. I don't think I'll ever be competing with the players who can end with adjusted fans in the 100's of thousands but I thought id take a look at the last couple of raves to see where i need to be to collect a little extra swap.hive but its unfortunately really difficult to calculate on such limited data.
but as a rough, really rough, with the assumption we all entered the rave at a similar time... by doubling my fans i would be doubling my returns.
Is it worth buying fan cards?
I could go to the market and buy some fan cards, but is it worth it? fan cards are currently available at the costs below
Card | Fans | Swap.hive |
---|---|---|
FA1 | 5 | 0.04 |
FA2 | 50 | 0.4 |
FA3 | 500 | 4.6 |
FA4 | 10,000 | 65 |
So to double my returns I could spend, say, 5 swap.hive and take approximately 1 year to recover the cost.
If i had been in the winning rave a similar amount of fans would probably have won me 0.2 swap hive
so approx 25 weeks to recover the cost, getting the right rave 25 times in a row that lasted 5 days would be really impressive though!
All in all, while this is a play to earn game, at this moment it should be really play to enjoy and accept any prizes we make as something a little extra. I'll stick to picking up fan cards as and when they come along and running the "promote fan club" mission every day for the Stardust Rewards until i can get my pet tiger!
See you in the Red Rave
