Rising Star Weekly Giveaway #177 and A Vow of Unity

in #hive-1953706 days ago

Here is my weekly status and giveaway. I also talk about an OST track that I like. Please make sure to read the rules to qualify for the giveaway. This giveaway post is a day early but LPUD is tomorrow. So I will put this up slightly earlier. I choose a track from a game that I played in the past that I liked.

A Vow of Unity

A Vow of Unity is an OST that plays in Tales of Vesperia inside the town of Dahngrest. Dahngrest is a town that you visit midway into the game and it's the town where the guilds are all located. It was talked about quite a bit going there, but this track always stood out to me and it's the most memorable city track from Vesperia for me. I always liked going back to this town because of this track and it stands out to me as one of my favorite tracks from the entire game.

Tales of Vesperia is a pretty old game and I like that it was ported over to PC a few years ago. I played it again when that happened. The Tales series is an RPG series that I liked in the past, but I haven't found myself playing the more recent titles as much. I did play Arise when it came out because it looked great but I kind of skipped out on Xillia and the games related to it. When I was a kid, I remember one of the first RPGs that I played was Tales of Phantasia. The only thing that I didn't like too much about the game was all the skits and trying to unlock them. Along with the quests, you had to kind of use a guide to make sure that you got everything.

This track reminds me the most about Don Whitehorse. He is the leader of the Altosk, which was the stronger guild. I thought he was a pretty good leader as he led people by example and it makes sense for him to be respected by everyone. I did think that Karol was a bit annoying before seeing him in person, but it's too bad that some events in the game affected him later. So I would have to say that he is among the top characters that I liked from the game. The image was taken from the wiki for Don Whitehorse.

Do you like any of these tracks? If so, why?

Current Status

I gained 38k STARBITS over the past week and if you add in the millionaire mission, I got around 108k. This week was quite rough for me as I was busy most of the day. I did play a few missions at night but it wasn't enough I guess. I'll have to see if I can pop in during the day for the longer missions so my energy doesn't go to waste.

Current Ranking

My rank dropped quite a bit. Other than less time played this week, not much changed. So I guess people were either more active or they opened a decent amount of packs. I did open up my packs a bit late so they didn't make it in time for this rank update.

Tips (source)

I think the tips are something every new player should know about. It will help people progress in the game and it hasn't really been shared since surya1adiga stopped his giveaways.

  1. Take music lessons when possible to raise skill and reduce ego.
  2. Having lesson specific instruments helps in receiving more skill from that lesson.
  3. Have pizza box to store any pizza received during mission to reuse later.
  4. Buy cold pizza slice if possible. This gives 1 refill every 24hours. Comes very handy when you are low on energy.
  5. If you have enough of cold pizza slice and pizza box, you will never run out of energy.
  6. If you have more fans than skill and you won't reduce the ego , you can use a storage trailer to store unnecessary cards. Or you can list the card in market for an unreasonably high price.
  7. Ego received for a particular mission increases every time you play it. The ego is reset to base level the next day. So, try to play different missions to control the ego gained.
  8. Keep track of your achievements to unlock in game rewards
  9. Buy storage trailer (only if necessary) to keep the cards that might have a negative effect. Like a card with high fan count resulting in ego.
  10. When earning skill points through music lessons, you can earn more points per lesson if you hold more of specific instrument cards. There seems to be base skill which is rewarded irrespective of the card count and then the skill increases depending on the number of the lesson specific card one has.
  11. Try taking up many smaller missions to fill up pizza boxes and have extra energy to play more rewarding missions. But you need to have pizza boxes for this to work.
