A 2012 research reveals that singing also increases the pain threshold and positive effect. The research shows that singing, drumming, and dancing trigger the release of endorphins. I would like to point out that only listening to music and low-energy musical activities do not trigger the release of endorphins.
Singing, and especially collective singing, causes your body to release more endorphins. I just saw this research and frankly, I didn't know that endorphins are so beneficial to the body. And I decided to do more music activities during the day to trigger my endorphins more.
