Sounds have been present in the world since its creation. Birds and other creatures have given us their songs. Man began to express himself with different sounds and music was officially born, which has evolved over time.
With each new century have come changes and new styles, some decades have given us musicians who have been immortalized for being great composers, others for being singers, others for being instrumentalists and some all of the above, there are even those who are great dancers.
Recently, in the topics proposed for February by inleo in the account @leogrowth specifically on the 06th, he invites us to express our opinion about the music we prefer between the music of the 90's or the current one. If you want to participate, here I share the link.

Now, currently there are very catchy songs that I enjoy because I like them, or because thanks to my son who is 22 years old I listen to them and I like them, for example I discovered thanks to him one that is called “tú me dejaste de querer” this song is performed by the Spanish C. Tangana and was released in 2020 and has the collaboration of two flamenco singers La Húngara and Niño de Elche, its rhythm is very catchy and the fact that it has a mix between the current and something as Spanish as flamenco, is what I like.
On the other hand, in my land Venezuela in the year 2023 Elena Rose along with two other Venezuelan singers Danny Ocean and Jerry Di, released a song entitled “Caracas en el 2000” and although none of the three are singers of my generation is a song that I love, because his lyrics are full of nostalgia, as was Caracas, the capital of Venezuela in the year 2000, each of the singers express their memories of that Caracas and are years that many remember with longing, because they will not return, plus it has a spectacular rhythm.
The songs I mentioned and other recent ones are present in my playlist, along with many others, but certainly my favorites and most of those present in that list are from the 90's, because in those years I was a young girl and I feel more inclined towards that music, it brings back memories and I also feel that the music had more content in terms of lyrics, Nowadays, the songs have very dull lyrics, with nothing critical or reflective, and if there are any, they have been ignored because, unfortunately, genres such as reggaeton have very empty lyrics, most of them are aimed at normalizing things like the objectification of women, substance abuse and a life without a sense of responsibility.
In the 90's there could have been trash songs, as they are never lacking, but there were alternatives. Today I feel that there are very few that are presented so that young people can have a more critical mind.
I leave here two videos of songs from the 90's that are undoubtedly excellent songs and also interpreted by singers with real talent.
“Desesperada” performed by the Spanish singer Marta Sanchez who undoubtedly has an incredible talent and was launched as a soloist after leaving the group Olé, Olé, this song was released in 1993, in countries like Mexico and Spain, reached number 1, and number 10 on Billboard Hot Latin Tracks.
I also want to mention the famous song Freedom! '90 a song by British musician George Michael that was incredibly successful because of its video featuring the five supermodels of the time. I particularly like his rendition of the song on MTV Unplugged.
In conclusion, I prefer without a doubt the music of the 90s, although there are current songs that I enjoy, so I close my participation taking advantage that today is #ninetiesfriday.
Los sonidos están presentes en el mundo desde su creación. Las aves y otras criaturas nos han brindado sus cantos. El hombre comenzó a expresarse con diferentes sonidos y nació oficialmente la música, la cual ha ido evolucionando con el paso del tiempo.
Con cada nuevo siglo han venido cambios y nuevos estilos, algunas décadas nos han brindado músicos que se han inmortalizado por ser grandes compositores, otros por ser cantantes, otros al ser instrumentistas y algunos todas las anteriores, incluso están los que son grandes bailarines.
De manera reciente, en los temas propuestos para febrero por inleo en la cuenta @leogrowth específicamente el día 06, nos invita a expresar nuestra opinión sobre la música que preferimos entre la de los años 90 o la actual. Si deseas participar, aquí comparto el enlace.
Ahora bien, actualmente hay canciones muy pegajosas que disfruto porque me gustan a mí, o porque gracias a mi hijo que es un joven de 22 años escucho y son de mi agrado, por ejemplo descubrí gracias a él una que se titula “tú me dejaste de querer” esta canción es interpretada por el español C. Tangana y fue lanzada en 2020 y posee la colaboración de dos cantantes de flamenco La Húngara y Niño de Elche, su ritmo es muy pegajoso y el que posea una mezcla entre lo actual y algo tan español como el flamenco, es o que me gusta.
Por otra parte, en mi tierra Venezuela en el año 2023 Elena Rose junto a otros dos cantantes venezolanos Danny Ocean y Jerry Di, lanzaron una canción que se titula “Caracas en el 2000” y aunque ninguno de los tres son cantantes de mi generación es una canción que amo, ya que su letra está llena de nostalgia, por como era Caracas, la capital de Venezuela en el año 2000, cada uno de los cantantes expresa sus recuerdos de esa Caracas y son años que muchos recordamos con añoranza, pues no regresaran, además de que tiene un ritmo espectacular.
Las canciones que mencione y otras recientes están presentes en mi playlist, junto a muchas otras, pero sin duda mis favoritas y la mayoría de las presentes en esa lista son de los 90, pues en esos años yo era una joven y me siento más inclinada hacia esa música, me trae recuerdos y además siento que la música tenía más contenido en cuanto a letras, actualmente las canciones poseen letras muy zonzas, sin nada critico o de reflexión y si las hay las han ignorado porque, lamentablemente los géneros como El reguetón tienen letras muy vacías, en su mayoría van dirigidas a normalizar cosas como la cosificación de la mujer, el consumo de sustancias y una vida sin sentido de responsabilidad.
En los 90 pudo presentarse el caso de canciones basura, pues nunca faltan, pero había alternativas. Hoy en día siento que son muy pocas las que se presentan para que los jóvenes puedan tener una mente más crítica.
Dejo por acá dos videos de cancones de los 90 que sin duda son excelentes temas y además interpretados por cantantes con verdadero talento.

En conclusión, yo prefiero sin duda alguna la música de los 90, aunque hay canciones actuales que disfruto, así cierro mi participación aprovechando que hoy es #ninetiesfriday.
