Music is an art from whose medium beautiful sounds emanate. It is the universal language that can evoke emotions, convey messages and bring people together.
Music is the food of the soul. People like it when good music is played because it will light up the place and connect people together. Good music is known by their melody, harmony, rhythm, lyrics, and structure. All these determine the originality of the music.
Music from the 90’s are the best songs ever for me and I love listening to them. Music back then was very informative and educating because people tend to learn from those music. Musicians then used to air their feelings through songs and those listening will appreciate it.
Music then was seen to be very interesting because everything was in place and it spoke volumes and with much meaning much so that the listener would definitely learn something from it.
Everyone has different choices when it comes to music, to me I prefer listening to the music from the 90’s because it lifts my spirit and makes me understand what the singer means.
I’m not saying the music of now is not good, but I prefer music from the 90s. There are days I feel like listening to the olden days music and there are days I feel like listening to the music of now depending on my mood.
When it comes to the music of 90s, I love reggae especially songs Lucky Dube. When I listen to Lucky's songs, I feel the connection to what is happening in the world today. His songs make a lot of sense to me, you talk of corruption, injustice and love…he gave it all in his songs. Expressing his emotions through it.
Artists from 90’s appreciate music so well that before a song or album is released, it will take time. The song has to go through different processes to know whether it will be good to the listeners or not. In the 90s, the musicians were not really after the money but to entertain their listeners but now, our musicians don't really care about the listeners all they want is to make money.
Most of the music of today have no meaning to the listeners. Most of the lyrics do not even impact to the listeners because they don't have time to analyze the music before releasing it. Most at times, is the beat we dance to and not the lyrics. Am not saying that today's songs are not good, we still have the good ones that are inspiring to the listeners.
I still maintain my stance that music from the 90’s is still the best no matter what. It is great legacy that those musicians left behind and it will still stand, it will be difficult for people to forget such music. But today music does not last, it disappears without us even doing. The only music of this era that I like is the gospel music from a few selected artists.
My love for the 90s music can not compared to anything and it always remain in my heart.
