Hello Afi-tunes communit, I'm @fortunebassey and it's good to be back with you all again this week.
I'm exited to share my cover of Frand Edwards inspiring song "Oghene Do", which holds a special place in my heart. I'm looking forward to share my unique interpretation with you all and hope you'll enjoy it.
I'm particulary proud of this cover because i took on the challenge of playing both bass and piano simultaneously, a technique we call "One Man" in Nigeria. This requires a lot of mental and physical dexterity, as it demands separation and brain work to play both insturments at the same time. It's a skill i developed when i first started leadning piano, and I decided to revisit it for this song. It was a fun challenge.
I'm excited to put my own spin on Frank Edwards iconic anthem 'Oghene Do' (Thank you God). I have a profound connection to this song because it was a source of comfort and inspiration during a challenging season of my life. The lyrics spoke directly to my heart, and the melody lifted my spirit, helping me find the strength to persever. I felt a sense of gratitude and hope, reminding me to thank God for His unwavering presence.
Frank Edwards powerful vocal and the song's soaring instrumentation stirred something within me. I deeply identified with the song's theme of gratitude and faith in God's sovereignty. 'Oghene Do' became my anthem of hope, a constant source of encouragement that helped me stay grounded and trusting in God's plan, even in the midst of life's uncertainties and challenges.
What draws me to this song is it's universal message of gratitude and faith. It transcends genres and languages, speaking directly to the heart. I'm inspired by the song's ability to bring people together in praise and thanksgiving. Performing 'Oghene Do' allows me to share this inspiration with others, spreading hope and joy.
'Oghene Do' symbolizes the profound impact of music in our lives, elevating us and guiding us toward hope and resilience. This iconic anthem encourages us to embrace our blessings and trust in a divine plan. I'm privileged to share my rendition of this inspiring song, and I hope it will ignite a sense of gratitude and faith in those who experience it.
Get comfortable and enjoy the show!
