It another beautiful week in the Afritunes community and I am super excited today. Guess what!!!
FOLLOW THE POST, don't just watch the video. BUT WATCH IT, hehe😄
I will be presenting a freestyle guitar cover today. However, I won't be the one playing the guitar, obviously because I don't know how to play it yet.
This picture was taken for one of the assignments I was given at the academy to show that I know how to hold a peak. Don't mind the nails
I got my first ever guitar on January 23, 2024 and I felt really excited about that accomplished goal, and I am still excited.
I should tag @dreemsteem because a few weeks ago, we did a challenge on dreemport and it was an amazing one. Remember this post?
The Start Of Accomplishing My Dreem
I accomplished the goal of getting a guitar.
I was so excited when I finally got my guitar yesterday! I've had this in mind for a long time now, and now I am glad that I finally got one. A nice electro-acoustic guitar.
Since I had the goal in mind, I have been saving up money. The day I bought it was thrilling - I was holding that beauty carefully and eagerly. Now guess what!! It is about time I started pursuing my dream of being a guitarist.
A big thanks to @ksam for helping me get started on that journey. He helped me subscribe to the Spicy Guitar Academy. I know I'll need to consistently practice if I want to become a skilled player! My goal is to be able to play full songs for my friends within a year. I'm committed to playing every day no matter what.
Just picturing myself confidently performing on stage one day is very motivating. But I understand I need to start with the fundamentals and work upwards. I also plan to document my journey of learning songs and developing dexterity. Having this guitar finally makes everything feel real and possible! I'm extremely excited to see how capable a guitarist I can become through dedication. Getting this instrument opens up an inspiring musical path.
I love the Spicy Guitar Academy because it makes learning so easy and not so overwhelming at all.
So far, I have learned that the guitar has 6 strings. The E, B, G, D, A, E.
I have also learned musical key chart, modulation tone, and I have learned that music has 12 keys. In addition to this, I have learned what natural keys are, flattened and sharpened keys.
I have learned semi-tone and tone modulation, and I have learned major scale tonal distance, tuning the guitar, slack tuning, striking note, and major scale on the neck.
The interesting part is that after each lessons, assignments are given and after the assignments are approved, the next course becomes accessible for me to study. So far it has been an interesting one.
How much did I get the guitar?
I have had this plan for a long time now. If you've been watching my Afritunes video, you will remember this video. I made a promise to myself there.
All thanks to the Hive Blockchain and @anomadsoul and all team that organized the zealy campaign, I was able to buy my new and first ever guitar $55 USD and that's about #74,000.00 in Naira.
My church's audio engineer was the one who connected me to a reliable vendor located at Alaba International. After making payments for the guitar, I also had to spend about $ 6 USD, #8,000.00 in naira for the delivery of the package. In total, I spent #82,000.00 for purchasing the guitar and paying for the delivery fee.
After getting the guitar, I also bought an amplifier cord, a battery, and peak. I still need to get a speaker so that I can connect the guitar to it whenever I want my guitar sound to be amplified.
Well, that all the update about my guitar for now.
The man playing the guitar in the video is my church's audio engineer. I asked him to launch it by playing it for me so I can record him. This was after he finished tuning the guitar.
I hope I didn't bore you all with my excitement about my new guitar, and I also hope that you enjoy listening to that freestlyle.
Thank you.
