Hello friends of the hive Afritunes Community, my name is @jesus-son and I welcome you to m blog on this occasion of the week 144 of the Afritunes events. I hope that you would enjoy my interpretation for the week.

I bring you a traditional song to enjoy the afritunes jam. It's a traditional Yoruba song titled "Iye Ti ani". This is a song of Thanksgiving to God and a supplication to accept one's offering.

Our God is a being that deserves much of our praises. We owe Him that duty of giving thanks for every single thing He does for us. The good thing about giving thanks is the opening of more opportunities.

Talking about Yoruba songs, they are characterized by some features that make me love them so much. First of all, the language in itself has a rhythm such that when speaking, it seems someone is singing. The intonation of the words go along way to express its meaning.

These feature of the language enters into the yoruba songs in that they are very melodious in their different genres and most often so inspirational. A yoruba worship song can make one enter in the realm of the Spirit so easily if one understands the meaning.

In my church, there are people from several parts of the country Nigeria and so we try to mix the songs during the Sunday worship or any time we meet for a worship. Most persons prefer the Igbo songs, perhaps because the majority in the church are Igbos but I am a fan of the Yoruba songs.

In fact, I try to learn the meaning of the lyrics so as to enjoy the songs better. Understanding the lyrics of songs goes a long way to determine how one sings and enjoy that song.

It was a soul lifting experience for me to present this song to you all here. This is a song that is very dear to my heart and I take great delight whenever we sing it in my church. I hope that you enjoy with me.
