Hello great ladies and gentlemen of this great community, welcome to Afri-Christmas volume III, a platform where we share our Christmas vibes with friends and loved ones. My name is mamab and I am so glad to bring to you my beautiful entry for this edition.
Christmas season is such a beautiful season, it is full of laughter, sharing and fun times. Anytime we enter December, it is as if it should not come to an end because of the special feelings and atmosphere it carries from beginning to the end. Usually, in my environment we decorate our houses with balloons, flowers, Christmas lights among others. When you pass major streets in the night, especially the roundabouts, almost everywhere is shining with beautiful and different colours of light.
I will be presenting the freestyle cover of an old reggae song. I won't say I know who composed during the song. It is in Hausa Language, one of the languages spoken majorly in Northern Nigeria. We used to sing it in our church band back then when I was still in the secondary school. The title of the song is Menene Christmas? which means "What is Christmas"?
I just put down the chorus to make it easy for you to sing along. I wrote it by myself.
Chorus Lyrics
Christmas Menene Christmas
(Christmas what is Christmas)
Rana ne na tuna da haifuwar Yesu
(It is the day to remember the birth of Jesus)
Christmas menene Christmas
(Christmas what is Christmas)
Rana ne na tuna da haifuwar Yesu.
(It is the day to remember the birth of Jesus)
