Hello everyone! I am @nathcy and this is my first entry in the #Afri-tunes community. I am happy about this wonderful space where we all lovers of African music come together to enjoy African music regardless of our place of origin, a place also where we celebrate our shared musical heritage as Africans.
Personally, one thing I love about African music is the flexibility and freedom found in most of its genres. Perhaps I feel this way because I'm African and it's in my blood. Perhaps also it is more than that and could be sensed by anyone who came across African music.
I hope to enjoy the experience here with you all!
This is a short chorus in Yoruba language which implores God to hear my prayer.
I heard this song performed by a young lady on YouTube and I was completely enamored! I am happy to be able to make a cover of it myself. It was composed by Mega 99, a Yoruba singer.
I hope you enjoy it also and I hope it aligns with your feelings as we all plead with the Father for our daily needs and long term desires.
It's a short chorus and as such, a friend of mine has helped me with the lyrics and translation since I do not yet understand Yoruba enough.
LYRICS
Baba gbo adura mi, bamise kin le rogo lo, laye.
TRANSLATION
Father hear my prayer
Help me do it
That I may make use of my glory in life.
God bless you!
PS If you love bass, I have a few notes for you as I switch rhythms half way through the song; your earpiece might come in handy!
