Music is something that has existed even before we were born. People used it as a form of entertainment , consolation , and even education. There’s a lot of things that go into music, it’s not just a combination of beats and that’s all. Most musicians pour out their whole souls into the music they produce and that’s what makes us appreciate it more. There’s always that element in a song that draws us to it and that’s the beauty of music. You sometimes realise it too late but it’s there, it draws you just in an instance and that’s just it.
I remember how my studies sometime back in school turned out to be ineffective because I thought I studied best with music and that’s what I told all my friends. I’d go to class and play full blown music while studying but in truth, I wasn’t doing much of studying but rather much of relaxing.
Music has been my safe space for years now. I’m not a people’s person and with each passing day, I find it very hard dealing with people. Some people are always out there trying to do all they can just to trigger you to lose your composure but one thing I’ve learnt over the years is to never lose my composure no matter what.
Now , I’ve learnt to use music in many ways that would benefit me. One thing I know for sure now is I don’t study best with music but I sure do work effectively with music. Say I’m washing, cooking or working on a project which wouldn’t really require much thinking, I think music does the magic for me in such instances. I’m able to work at a faster rate and more efficiently while also having my peace.
Moving on, I’d like to believe music helps me relax a lot more. There’s always those days I feel like I’m carrying the burden of the whole world on my shoulders and no matter how much I try to not get consumed in my own thoughts, it just doesn’t seem to work out. But, what does work out for me in this situation is music. Once I just put some music on, everything just starts to slip away bit by bit until there’s little to nothing left. Majorly, I’d say music keeps me sane most of the time.
I believe the effects are different for everyone and no matter how you try to explain it to people sometimes, they just won’t be able to relate to it as much as you do. It’s more like a moment you get to experience and until someone gets to fully experience it, they wouldn’t be able to fathom it.
Music carries a lot of power and when it’s used the right way, a lot of things can be different. Music is food for the soul, so let’s use it well.
