ENGLISH
Hello brothers and sisters. Greetings to all of you, all singers and lovers of African music viewing this post. I hope this meets you in good health. I remain my humble self Stefanovah... This is week 97 of Afritunes and I'm here with my entry once again. I had planned to post my entry earlier in the week but no way due to activities. I'm glad to still be able to do so and I plan on turning up pretty much every week so help me God.
There have been loads of wonderful covers as usual and I've just come to contribute my own two kobo. I think I saw someone here last month, a Nigerian, cover a song by a Tanzanian artiste. Thus I have said from time to time I'll try to do a song from another country, since it's Afritunes and not Naijatunes afterall... This song is from a Ghanaian gospel artist MOG, singer of the popular song "Oh be lifted". Maybe I'll do a song not in English later but for now I felt inspired to do this song Halleluyah, a word of highest praise to God which is the same in every language.
The song was released in 2019, and it's quite obvious what it's about. It builds from a calm start and eventually involves a number of modulations, I was happy being able to play the backing instrumental and sing along as modulating without keys can be tricky... If you joined me singing and just going up 😃 I hope you enjoyed the cover as much as I did making it, and praising the most high
Lyrics
Halle .. lujah
We will sing Hallelujah
Halle .. lujah
We will sing Hallelujah
Every knee will bow down
Every tongue confess
And say Halle .. lujah
Every knee will bow down
Every tongue confess
And say Halle .. lujah
Here's a video of the original song, I hope you're blessed by it:
