Hello once again friends, fellow musicians and lovers of good music, of African music. I greet you specially, hope you're doing okay... This is Stefanovah and I'm here for Afritunes here on Hive. It's week 103 and the weather has been very hot, nevertheless you guys have been sending in so many cool entries. I hope this my own also sounds nice
So my last entry was a love song by a guy named Bez featuring Yemi Alade. This week I am back with another song by this very same gentleman, but this time around it's a more of a fun or feel good song, and he did this one with another guy called Praiz. Funny enough I also did a song by Praiz "Rich and Famous" some weeks back... Anyway, this Stupid Song as it is titled just takes us on a trip down memory lane to some of the songs we sang as kids. Back then these songs were the absolute best even though they sound senseless and stupid to some people now as adults, me I sha like to remember and sing along to them stupid songs.
I got my backing track by splitting the song on bandlab. Had to also change the key of the track to a more comfortable one before recording. I'm happy for growth and these little things I'm automatically learning as I keep participating here and elsewhere on hive... I enjoyed making this cover and hope you enjoyed listening or maybe even singing along to it too and noticed at least one of those songs you remember. If you did please do let me know which one(s) in the comments I'll be waiting 😀
Lyrics
Play that stupid song from the day when we were young
Everybody sing along
Everybody say oooohhh
Boju Boju... That's a stupid song
Ojuju calabar... That's a stupid song
Tinko tinko... That's a stupid song
Yankee doodle went to town
Riding on a pony
He stuck a feather in his hat and called it macaroni more
Here's the video of the original song:
