For almost six years, I stayed at home literally being a house wife and full time mom. I focused more with my son, teaching him what I can, preparing him for school.
One day, my brother chatted me and asked favor if I can be an attendant to their small business that offer services like printing, photocopy, lamination and they also sells school supplies. I told him that I don't know how to do other services like printing ID and others. He told me to visit their store for training.
October 4, my sister in law teached me how to do the services they offered. Everytime she told me like this and that, I just nod. I admit, I understand it easily but I also admit that I can't remember everything in just one setting.
October 5, my sister in law need to leave the store for some important things to do and I am left to the store as an attendant and I felt so worried because I am alone.
I cried
In my first day, I sell school supplies, I do the printing as well as laminating. One costumer asked to laminate her ID, I do it gracefully and it is about to finish when I noticed that the ID didn't go out from the machine. I felt so worried and when I checked it, the ID was inside the machine and is damage.
I wasn't told not to to put the ID in the very corner of the machine and that's what I did. My heart beat so fast, I don't know what to do. I called my sister in law and asked help but they are away and couldn't do anything to help me. I am alone in the shop, I am helpless. I keep on asking sorry to the costumer and try to find ways to get her ID. I borrowed star crew in our neighborhood and started to open the laminating machine for the first time.
Glad I was able to remove the ID from the machine but it looks like this. My tears started to fall and keep on saying sorry to the costumer, thanks God she is just calm.
I cried in my first day in the shop and it really give me a lesson and an experience that I cannot forget.
Some of my unforgettable experience in the shop within two months.
LAMINATING
The first one happened in my first day as I mentioned above. The ID stocked inside the laminating machine.
The second one is when the costumer brought their own laminating film and I thought it is so thin compared to the one we are using.
When I inserted it to the laminating machine, it didn't comes out but instead just roll in the roller. Again, I opened the laminating machine using the costumers star screw, glad they brought one. In this experience I really thank God because the costumers are so kind and they didn't complain but instead understand the situation.
The third one is when I am cutting the edges of the ID I didn't noticed that I am still using the one that makes a hole in the ID. It resulted that the ID has three holes. I asked the student if he can asked another card from his teacher so we will laminate another ID for him.
The student just nodded and just said it is okay.
Different activities I do in the shop
In my sister in law's shop we are accepting printing, photocopy, scanning and lamination. We also sells school supplies.
It is my weakness to memorize prices as I always forget it. I really depend on the prices being put in every item. If the item don't have price, I will really try to find it in the inventory notebook or ask my sister in law.
I do different task in the shop and it makes me learn something new and experience another things.
I love being in the shop because it allows me to go out from the comfort of the four corners of our room and I learned new things, experience new things and it allows me to interact with other people. I am helping my sister in law after I send my son in school and will fetch him again after their classes.
I also accept gcash in and out and do loading for all network.
On the other side, I became so inactive in Hive since I was there. I can't write an article if I don't have time alone. Hopefully I can adjust soon and still can write when it is not busy in the shop.
I miss you all and thank you for reading.
