HEY FAM, HOPE YOU ARE HAVING A GREAT DAY...

This week was rough, I have been working for 40 hours per week. It is more like a full-time job with minimum wage. For now, employers are offering all Ukrainians minimum wage jobs whether they are skilled workers or not. I used to hear a lot of stories about odd jobs or student jobs and now I am experiencing that. I have never done odd jobs in life, this is the first time I started working from scratch and I am enjoying it. The first day was rough and it was really hectic. My whole body was in pain and I was like crying after returning to the shelter. I was not comfortable at all but I am now getting used to my work.

Things are slowly changing, I can't say positive or negative but I have decided to live. I have said before that I am working to get out of my depression. My body is getting ready for the new chapter of life now. I sometimes feel sad thinking about my past but I don't cry like before thinking about Kharkiv. I always think that when the war will be end, I will go back and will take a decision according to the circumstances. Kharkiv is still not safe and all the people of Kharkiv who are still here in Holland didn't leave at all. There are 5 families from Kharkiv living in the shelter where I am staying currently. Ukrainian kids started going to school and getting involved in different activities. People are thinking that this war is not going to end soon unfortunately... :(

I am proud of what I am doing and I am proud of myself that I survived and was able to make the entire journey. This is more than I expected about myself.

Thank you so much for watching. Have a great weekend...

Hello dear friend @priyanarc
I'm so sorry for what you're going through, and I'm working full time for minimum wage. I wish with all my heart that everything soon improves there
You are a very strong woman.

I am not thinking about the money though sometimes it hurts knowing that I am a full-time worker with minimum wage but I am trying to take it positively, after all, I have to do something for survival as well.

I wish you a great weekend my friend...

Yes, it's definitely a full time job! Look after yourself though and don't let people take advantage of you.

After 8 hours, I barely can move my feet and body. I was never into such kinds of jobs, I was more like an office worker. Right now I am working in catering management of 4 star hotel in Almere and all I can say, it's a hard job more than I have imagined :( @ellenripley

I can imagine it's very physical work. Don't make yourself ill.

I hope that too :D I don't want to be ill :D :D

Hi @priyanarc
Stay strong my friend. The decision of doing odd jobs is the best way to keep your mind occupied. this is how you will reach your destination and settle well.
I wish you all the good luck and happiness.
Stay strong and positive!

Everybody told me that and they said that this is the beginning and the first step of starting life. I appreciate that Holland is giving Ukrainians jobs and the rules are different but unfortunately, big companies or normal regular companies are not ready to consider the people from Ukraine as skilled workers. Probably this will change in time.

Thanks my friend, I wish you a nice weekend...

Hi dear, i think the body will get used to the work, but I really hope it will be good for your soul, being at least active, meeting new people and oportunities.
Thats all so unfair. I wish you all the best!

The entire war thing and the suffering of the innocents are unfair in my opinion. I highlight my thoughts through writing but there are many who don't have anyone to share. The work level is different for us in Holland. After all, Ukrainians are viewed as cheap labor in Holland... Unfortunately...

Physical exertion helps mitigate the effects of depression. Still, I hope you can get a better salary. Best wishes to you.
