Finally Got My Mic Delivered and Now It's Time to Experiment

in #hive-1962333 years ago

It's an inexpensive Maono AU-PM420. After careful deliberation, I picked this one because it was on sale. Yes, nevermind the fancy features a mic can have that should suit my intended purpose. I picked this one out because it was on sale and looks nice. After committing to having it delivered, I felt what every impulsive buyer does right after making the best decision.

Arrived in good condition and it works.

A void to be filled with regret and rationalizing what I did was the way it went down. Well I did set my mind on making new forms on content for the year and trying out podcasting was one of them. Then complicating it further like learning how to edit sounds and other skills to pump out better stuff to waste people's time online.

For those new to my blog posts, things just look as bland as they come with the lack luster formatting and text walls. I can't blame anyone that went after past the first paragraphs of this post.

Here's how I started experimenting with content creation on the blockchain:

I tried gaming review content
I tried anime review content
I tried finance related posts
I tried ranting

I tried being artsy with my @artofadamada

When I want to scribble paint from imagination.

When I pour hours trying to direct a specific outcome but falls short of my own expectations

What you see are just snippets on how I tried to discover what I can do over the past years on the blockchain, what I want to do, and how different it is when posting for $ versus posting because I like sharing about interests I'm really invested into.

I have to be interested in something first before I share something about it here. This was the way I knew it was never about the votes why I do what I want here. Because if Hive didn't exist, I'd most likely be hanging out on art sites like Pixiv and Deviantart.

The mic adds another milestone on hobby exploration outside my soul crushing job. I've been consuming podcast content and just listening to audio books that sparked this interest.

You're still reading a shitpost.

In my journey to find my own identity as a content creator (shitposter), I have come to accept my mortality and what I create on the blockchain can possibly be seen by the next generations.

To my descendants:

"This is your great great grandfather's blog. Your ancestor shitposted on Hive just like everybody else before it mooned paving the way to building your family's fortune."

To my non-existent fanbase:

Please be real.

If you made it this far reading, thank you for your time.

In a lot of ways Hive is an experiment. You throw things out there and some stick and some don't. Congrats on the new mic and good luck with the podcast. That's an interesting new endeavor. What will the topic be?

Haven't thought of a topic yet, right now I'm just playing with the recording and then doing youtube tutorials on how to use the software for recording and editing. It'll just come when I'm in the mood to shitpost I suppose :>

Haha I see. Well good luck with it 👍

I think we should suggest topics for him!

That could work 😁

But, can you do karaoke with it?

Not yet, going to sound proof my bathroom first and that's another level of shitposting commitment and work.

Nice! It’s the small things like this that are great and can improve parts of our lives that we are trying to do!

You're totally missing the point. All these posts are YOU. People want to read about people, their lives and opinion. All your posts, whatever the topic share something of the real you despite you preferring anonymity.

Even shit posts written honestly tell a real story!

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, will be to write a post about a building you see every day and post it in the architecture and design community.

Best wishes :-)

I'll think about it, but going to put a disclaimer here that there's not a building that comes to mind for the spot. Home to work doesn't have any scenic roads or buildings :/

Yeah calling them shitposts is just one way to reorient myself to remain grounded whether the post blows up or not. I have an internal high bar for myself that was meant to prevent me to be satisfied with whatever I find comfortable to avoid the pitfall of stagnation. To never stop innovating and self improving one shitpost at a time.

Watch out for the human traffickers at hivefest. You wont know it until its too late. STAY AWAY! Beware, traffickers can be women or men! They will act nice until they dont. There is human trafficking going on around this type of crypto. I have witnessed it. They literally have attempted my murder and are trying to kill me with V2K and RNM. Five years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism ..... https://ecency.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem if you run into one of them you may want to immediately shoot them in the face. 187, annihilate, asphyxiate, assassinate, behead, bleed, bludgeon, boil, bomb, bone, burn, bury, butcher, cap, casket, choke, chop, club, crucify, crush, curb, decapitate, decimate, deflesh, demolish, destroy, devein, disembowel, dismember, drown, electrocute, eliminate, end, euthanize, eviscerate, execute, explode, exterminate, extinguish, finish, fry, grind, guillotine, gut, hack, hang, hit, ice, implode, incinerate, kill, liquidate, lynch, massacre, maul, microwave, mutilate, neutralize, obliterate, off, pop, poison, punnish, quarter, ruin, shank, shock, shoot, shred, skin, slay, slaughter, smoke, smother, snipe, snuff, squish, stab, strangle, stone, suffocate, suicide, SWAT, swing, terminate, torture, terrorize, whack, waste, wreck. You're still reading a shitpost.

I read whatever I want and there's nothing you can do about it :))) I even read the last line from your post, and some comments :))

I hope you are in good health doing so :>

Well, you've had a couple of people read past the 1st paragraph 😀. So now you've got your new microphone, is there a dApp for podcasting? I used to make YouTube videos years ago about the struggles I was going through getting a diagnosis after my health went down hill. But apart from being depressing I eventually ran out of things to say. I think if I did a podcast, the only use it would have would be to help insomniacs to sleep!

Vimmtv is the only one I could think of but it's not exactly a dapp, sort of like another frontend that let's you post during livestreams other than that, nothing comes to mind. I can somehow picture out the struggle to find something interesting or relevant content to pump out and maintain an audience. Heck, thinking about what I'm supposed to be talking about now is already makes me doubt.

I was going through getting a diagnosis after my health went down hill. But apart from being depressing I eventually ran out of things to say. I think if I did a podcast, the only use it would have would be to help insomniacs to sleep!

Sorry to hear about your health and depression, hope things are turning well for you right now. Before I consumed podcast content, I used to think these were only good for triggering sleep until I found the content creators that talk about the stuff I'm interested in. It's a matter of discovery between audience and creator that sets up the mood to listen. I know there are days when I'm not really up to listening to the same creators even if I inherently find the topic interesting.

Thank you. Thankfully I wasn't depressed but when I look back at some of my videos they weren't exactly upbeat. I started making YouTube videos back in 2006 and had quite a following at the time. I used the username kaazoom on that too. It was mainly people who were struggling to get a diagnosis or, who like me, had been fobbed off with a it's all in your head type diagnosis that followed me. I was eventually diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome but I had many more symptoms than fatigue. Much like those who have long covid. Many of the people who followed me were diagnosed with CFS, or as most patients prefer to call it Myalgic Encephomylitis. I ended up repeating myself, and it wasn't good to keep focusing on my health. Although I still have it, I have learnt to deal with it.

I've since gone on to develop other conditions that are better recognised by doctors.

I'll have a look at the frontend you mentioned. I still have so much to learn about Hive.

That's tough, can't imagine something like that to be lived with chronically. Perhaps you'd like to continue the podcasts sometime too? Hive isn't really as punishing when it comes to experimentation and you'd get something at least for your time. We have a lack of content diversity in terms of niche topics as an ecosystem.

I have been thinking about that. But I still need to understand this a bit better before I go down that route. I also need to listen to more podcasts to get some idea of what is expected. I have only heard ones that have a least 2 people on them in conversation, I've not heard any where there is just one person speaking.

I have thought about moving some of my YouTube videos onto a Hive dApp, as I get nothing from YouTube for the content I created. But I would need to be selective.

Probably better to call it a monologue than a podcast, something I intend to do. Good luck to us :)

Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
