New week, same grind

It's a Monday and yup, just as always, the grind continues. Nothing changed since last week and today, I'm going to be doing more work as I now renewed multi car products and I have to say, it's been tedious so far.

I finished my training last week Friday and tried my hands on a few policies but frankly speaking, I'm still not doing it right. With time though, I'd be able to handle it much better than I am.

My shift today is the early shift and it ends early. Puts me out of my misery early as I adjust to working on a new product. The calls have been much longer and require a lot more attention to detail.

Doing something new at work kinda gets the blood flowing, if you ask me. Despite the inherent challenge of the process of learning something new, I'm happy that I get to experience it and get new skills under my belt.

I've had to learn on the spot and learn quickly, might I add. After today, I can say with all certainty that I indeed deserve an increase in salary, so I'm pleased to be crossing the probation line.

Sort:

Growth and things like that are ways to increase the salary in the long term but don’t expect something to be done in the short term. It’s not a great idea to discuss a raise 6 weeks after you’re done with it. Wait 6-8 months I think, that way you aren’t abusing the situation and giving it time to prove yourself.

Yeah, in 6-8 months, I'll have completed courses in project management and would be chasing higher paying roles.

I'm in my 6th month here and have been handling several responsibilities. Funny thing is that I didn't outrightly ask for a raise, I just inquired if doing extra roles leads to a raise.
