The resolutions I made

There are a couple of things that I always wanted in my life and I've realized that the only way to make it happen is to actively go for it. It's more to do with my relationship with my wife and how I can improve things at home.

I and my wife align on all the important stuff but our hobbies and interests differ to some extent. Now this isn't a problem in the grand scheme of things but it also means that at times, we simply just don't enjoy doing fun activities together.

So, I've been thinking of ways we can have fun together and well, that turned into a new year resolution. My plan for the year is for us to do a lot more stuff together, it's that simple.

Right now, my entertainment requires blocking out the world to focus on warzone or any videogame I'm playing. That means that I also block out my wife and just go into my zone.

I like playing warzone and I don't intend to stop. My wife doesn't have a problem with me playing but I tend to block her out, so, the solution is to get her involved in warzone.

Playing call of duty is a big jump, especially considering all the sweats and cheaters that play the game. So, right now, we've been warming up to gaming as a whole with a game titled "it takes two".

It's a wholesome videogame that requires two players to work together, solving puzzles and helping each other to get to the end. We started playing it at the end of December and it has brought us even closer.

We're still playing the game and we'll continue playing it until we move to our own house. When we do that, I'll then setup a workstation for myself where I'll keep the PlayStation and then buy an Xbox for my wife that'll be in the sitting room and we'll then be able to play warzone together.

I've also started teaching her how to play Chess and she will ride a bicycle this year. On the other end, I also got a jigsaw puzzle and a card game that are more in her alley. Basically, we'll fill in the time with activities that we do together, invariably bringing us closer and giving us more ways to bond. So, yeah, my new tears resolution is to play with my wife.

Sort:

@blezyn will not drop her phone and spend time with me. It is either she is sleeping or on her phone. I have bought three board games but she no gree play. The only thing we do together is banter each other.

We tried watching movies together but i ruined that somehow.

Anyways, I do want us to do more things online. It is a goal of mine to spend less time online and more time with the people that matter (of which she is no1)

I'm not going to lie to you, it is going to be difficult at times and I've not gotten a complete strategy to achieving it.

It will require a lot of patience and understanding. Right now, I and my wife play one game called "it takes two" on the PS5. I also downloaded 8-ball pool because I know she likes that type of stuff. You have to be subtle about it and then slowly work your way up.

A middle ground will be finding out the type of stuff blessing likes or could like and spice it up from there. It could be her favourite TV show, the thing she watches on her phone etc and then see if there are games or fun stuff themed after it.
