Yr Gen X surely...?

I don't think it's limited to younger just anyone who podcasts on the fly

I'm 45 years young, but my nieces love saying to me that I don't get thinks cuz I'm a boomer, hence the self deprecation.

My brother's stepchild speaks like this all the time... it drives me a bit bananas, and he's 15. It has to be the way kids in school speak these days

My youngest son (he's 21 now) was doing the same thing. It was a terrible habit that he picked up from his peers. I brought it to his attention and it literally took about 2 years before he eliminated it from his speaking. It wasn't until he left his trade school training and went into the work force (he's an electrician) that it completely went away. He actually came back home during the holidays and mentioned that he never even noticed it until I had told him about it and thanked me! Just goes to show that we are impacted by our surroundings more than we might even realize ourselves.

Your son seems level headed and open to critiques. I've been told I'm just being a boomer for not accepting how the new generations talk.

But hey, I'm glad your kid knew better and got rid of the nasty habit. I can't imagine a professional in almost any career addressing clients in this manner.
