You have been eyeing for that drawer quite sometime now. But until now, you still couldn't buy one. Your monthly salary is just enough for your family's needs and buying a drawer that would costs almost half of your salary for a month cannot be an option. It's either you save up for it or purchase it through installment. This is the case for many Filipinos. Moreover, as inflation hits high, our purchasing capacity has been reduced.
Sellers take advantage of this situation to sell their products and one effective way to have people buy their products is through caravan markets. They would bring their products closer to home and offer some great deals.
A jeepney loaded with household items came to display their products in the barangay gymn. I went to check out what products they have in stored for us.
For less than an hour they were able to display everything. I wondered how they put everything on that small jeepney. I am really amazed of people working on this kind of job. The spatial ability manifests on how they were able to put everything in.
One of the items on display were plastic cabinets. These were from different brands and designs. I loved the native designed cabinet because they look neat and spacious. While checking the items, I was comtemplating if I should purchase one. My cabinet at home has no enough space for our clothes. I asked if how much it would cost. I knew it would cost much. The seller proposed two payment options for me. He said I could pay it full on the spot in its original price or pay through installments for 10 months but for a much bigger price. These sellers will really put the consumers in a dilemma, lol!
I went on window shopping for the other items before deciding to purchase the cabinet or not.
Aside from cabinets other houseld items displayed includes appliances such as stove, washing machines, blenders, airfryers and more. How tempting! It was and advantage to the consumers since we don't need to travel far and the heavy items would be delivered at our doorsteps for free.
For the home chefs, kitchenwares are sold in set. You'd surely love cooking more with this set. I would have bought a cooking pot with the smaller size if it was sold individually.
How comfy would it be sitting on this swivel chair while working in the office. My friend loved it and purchased it without second thoughts.
There were also huge decorative framed images. There's the classic "The Last Supper" image. I remembered this same image hanging on the wall of my grandmother's house in the dinner area when I was young. I also found the same image in my mom's house. I guess the deep Catholic faith mainfests even in every corners of the house. Another interesting image is the money tree which is believed to attract wealth and abundance. Chinese culture has an influence to us. Although most Filipinos are Catholic, some adapt to some of Chinese belief like feng shui. The incorporation of culture can be observed in many aspects of life.
After checking out the displayed items, I decided to purchase the cabinet through installments. Since it is not on my top priority, I thought that paying it through installments is like saving up for it.
Thia has been my #MarketFriday! How was yours? Would you also consider paying in installment? Or be more frugal and pay for the priginal price?
Happy #MarketFriday!
