As much as we enjoy the outdoor markets and the flea markets, we still have a couple of months before the weather cools down and the outdoor markets pop up. But until then it’s the supermarkets for us here.
This week, we had almost finished getting everything from our shopping list at the supermarket, only a couple of things remained and so we headed out to the specialty organic store. The store is a family run business and over the years, they have grown and have multiple branches across the city. But we decided to head to their first branch as it is the closest to us. The plan was to be in and out of the store in 10 minutes.
Luckily, we got a parking spot right outside the store. There was a discount at the store, 20% off everything. It was a good thing. Who doesn’t like discounts, right?
This is not our first time at the store. But things looked different. I could not see the aromatherapy section. That was a huge disappointment. It is not a very big store nor is it a small store. We got the items from our list. Looked around for a bit. Was happy to see they are using biodegradable bags for their bakery section.
I remember there would be more things that you could buy loose (stuff you can get your own container to fill up). Maybe everyone prefers pre-packed things post covid times.
We went to the vegetable section and looks like they need to restock their veggie crates.
Since vegetables was not on our list, we moved on to the billing counter and were out of the store in 20 minutes, with the only things that were on our list - nutritional yeast and molasses with the only addition of dehydrated papaya spears.
It’s good to stick to our list and stay on budget even when the stores have a discount going on.
