Before heading back to the hotel, we had a quick grocery at Daily Qanat, just a little walk from the train station. The mall has a parking lot, which is convenient for people with bikes and cars.
As soon as I stepped into the store, the smell of sweet fruits greeted me. My eyes panned to these grapes delicately wrapped in clear plastics. I find it cute that they had a sash on them. 😆 I bet they were the best of the batch of grapes, haha. Half of the shelf was cleared so I assume they are popular items here.
Fruits were hella expensive here. I can get two for that price back home but of course not the same quality as these. So the price was just right. I was not here for the fruits but for the sweets and meat. 😋 They were nice to look at, though.
Pre-sliced watermelon and pineapple were available for people who do not have the time to prep them. It's all about convenience. 😁
Ahhh~ Salad! 🤩 There was so much variety of salad here. There was a version of the Western and Japanese but I chose the latter. I had a salad earlier and I wanted to compare them. This was a nice deal for the price of 172 Yen. I can make one though with a pack of shredded veggies, but I wanted to just eat as soon I checked out. 😆
A selection of "carb" salad is in stock as well. They come in three variants in one pack. For example, this one is a combination of macaroni, spaghetti, and sweet potato. I might take the sweet potato one, and skip the two. 😀
Some food labels were hard for me to read especially Kanji. 😆 Simple Hiragana and Katana were fine, but for Kanji, I had to pull out Google Translate. For example, this food that was not familiar to me had bold kanji labels on the clear plastic tray. So turned out to be a vinegared something dressed in sesame seed. Still, this food is a mystery to me, haha. 😅
I got one pack of meat just to try. I felt like I was still full from eating so much grilled meat so I just thought of getting one. Some were already at a reduced price to encourage people to buy.
I was heading for the checkout already, but a package of bread with a fluffy, white filling caught my eye. I was curious what could be the taste so I did not resist taking one. There were only three of them on the shelf so I got curious why it was almost sold out. Maybe a popular item. 😁 I shall find out the rave, haha!
Waa~ I got a lot of items that were not supposed to be in the cart. 😆 I got hypnotized by the colorful shelves, haha. The quick grocery turned out to be an hour scanning the store. It was not that busy so I had the chance to take pictures around. Also, I learned my lesson to take a shopping bag every time because plastic bags are not free. I had to bag them too by myself. Small plastic bags for wet food items were on hand too after check out. Now, I have to carry them back to the hotel and munch them all~ 😋
