Hi lovelies,
It’s Market Friday! I am not so excited to share this with you because of the cost of building and starting materials for furnitures right now in Nigeria.
Price of goods and services has tripled since the year began and everything is overly expensive.
This is my story as I have to get a new bed for my new house down town! Most of the carpenters I interacted with had been complaining about the hike in the price of woods and other starting materials for making furnitures.
And the cost of transportation is also a problem as most of these goods come from very far away places.
After learning that wooden beds are more expensive, I had to settle for this colorful foamy beautiful looking beds. It looks very luxurious and chic perhaps the fact that I can’t afford wooden beds maybe because they are too masculine and expensive whereas this one’s are more feminine and soft.
The starting price the carpenter told me was roughly about 70,000 naira and I was not so sure because by budget was around 50,000naira!
We both had to compromise finally settling for 60,000naira which I think is still expensive. However, due to the economic conditions and inflation currently facing Nigeria, I am grateful I can get a beautiful bed to help me sleep well.
I’m just going to take it slow and enjoy this new bed of mine.
