Market Friday: My Wasted Market Trip

in #hive-1963082 years ago

Hi guys
So, I’ve been in Ile Ife, Nigeria for a while now and I figured that I needed a new pair of shoes for my outings, so I decided to go to the market today, Friday with my friend.
The plan was to get only one shoe that could serve multiple purposes for now, so I had an idea of what I wanted to buy before I went to the market

I wanted a shoe like that, doesn’t have to be exactly that design, but you know, something similar, and my budget was ten thousand Naira
So I started my trip with my friend. We got to the market and entered the gate, where various pepper, vegetables and meat sellers displayed their goods.

We also passed people who sold cow skin, popularly known as ponmo in Nigeria, people who sold smoked fish and fresh fish and onions

We entered inside the main market, then got to the section where various foodstuffs and provisions and housewares were displayed and let me tell you guys, the prices of these foodstuffs are scary, things keep getting more and more expensive every day

We finally got to the part of the market where shoes, bags and clothes are being sold and I was just disappointed
Of course, they had different clothes and shoes, ranging from clothing materials to ready-to-wear clothes, and even different types of shoes, but they just weren’t what I was looking for and I was so disappointed.

Even though the shoes weren’t what I was looking for, the prices were outrageous!!!!
Why would one shoe be fifteen thousand Naira???
I had to leave the market heartbroken after touring the whole market without getting what I want
I hope to go the market back at home when I finally get home and see what I like
So, that ends my trip to the market this Friday
Thanks for reading.
