Market Friday: The cake shop

in #hive-1963082 years ago

In as much I love eating cakes, I haven’t had one since my birthday four month ago. Recently I had the urge to eat cake, it was so much and when I crave for food like that l like to consume it instantly, I mean quench the craving. Craving comes naturally, it could be food or something else...just a severe urge that the body want immediately for satisfaction, and when satisfaction comes, the body tends to relax.

My birthday cake

My craving for cake took me to a cake shop around my area. I love the taste of my birthday cake, it was so yummy and soft, it was so good and perfect as I wanted it. It was baked by a baker down town. But this particular cake shop always display nice looking cakes on their show glass and every time I pass through the shop my eyes are always passing through the displayed cakes but my stomach wasn’t ready for it.

Yesterday evening, I wanted to have a taste of cake, so I decided to stop by the shop. They had Cup cakes with different flavors and other portions of cakes. I ask the cashier how much each of the cost, she told me the Cup cakes was 70 cents and the other diced cakes was 2$ which was quite expensive she noticed my reaction and said it’s the price hike on ingredients from the supplier.

I wanted two, but I do not know how it would taste, then I asked her to give me one first just to have a taste of it. Before then, she has been glorifying how good the cake is because I told her if it’s not good I wouldn’t come back to the shop, but she insisted I will like it. She passed one portion to me from the show glass, as it got to me, I could feel how hard it was...not like how I love my cake, I wasn’t pleased with the hardness of the cake, but I thought it would taste good too so I took a bite, it was just as hard as it look.

The cake I bought

I have touched the cake and even had a taste of it, I had to pay for it (2$ gone Lol) definitely I gave the cashier my review and it wasn’t a good one, she apologized to me and I went away. Thank God I didn’t buy the two cakes Lol. I got home and kept the remaining part of the cake in my fridge and that was how my craving died without it satisfaction.

Sorry to hear that you were not satisfied and your craving stopped in the fridge. Sorry it was so hard and nothing like your soft birthday cake.
Sometimes we have a craving… and just want to still it. 😉
Have a good weekend!

😂 yeah...often time, it's not what we want that we eventually get and that's how life is.

Thank you for stopping by @littlebee4

Exactly @suchabeaut 😁 it’s life…
You are welcome!

Well, as sad as the story is, and it is sad, especially as it is a birthday cake! I have to say that I will bet you no longer have that urge to quench, right!? I think you should make your next cake!

Thanks so much for being part of #MarketFriday! Thank you for participating in #MarketFriday! I appreciate the time and effort that goes into putting a post together for the challenge. It is with great pleasure that I read through and realize how much we have all tried to include things in our world that may be unique to the area. I have learned so much about the different cultures of the world, especially the small things that go unnoticed except by those looking for them. Life is interesting, wherever you are, whatever you are doing. I hope the week has found you healthy and happy, as we all look to prosper in our way of life.
