Market Friday Buttonwood Park Zoo

A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Hive, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.

For this weeks post, I am going to share a few shots of a visit to the Buttonwood Park Zoo

The Buttonwood Park Zoo, located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, United States, is a seven-acre zoo located in the center of Buttonwood Park. It is owned and operated by the City of New Bedford, with the support of the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society. The zoo opened in 1894 as a deer park and menagerie
I did visit this zoo shortly after we moved here just as the Pandemic restrictions were coming into force and quite enjoyed my visit then, and I don't know if because of the pandemic they have had less visitors and hence less income, but I found I was not that impressed with it this time, some of the paths were over run with plants and such, and a few of the enclosures were empty.
I doubt I will revisit it again for a while but maybe will again next year and see if it is in better shape.

I did get some shots of animals, and of an indoor display with fish jelly fish and birds that was probably my favorite part of the visit to the zoo, but I haven't even looked at or edited those yet, but for this post I will focus more on the more market parts of the zoo

Starting with this carousel which you can buy tickets for a ride on

Of course being in a zoo the animals to ride on weren't the more common all horses and Ponies you see on other carousels

I wonder what it is about zoo's and trains that they go so well together. It seems like pretty much every zoo that I have ever been to they have some form of train as well. Probably one of my favorites is the Columbus Zoo. It's owned by Jack Hannah, so it is pretty massive. Right down the road from my inlaws too!

Yeah I wonder why I think every zoo I have been to has some kind of train

Columbus Zoo is one I would love to visit sometime

It's pretty awesome.

The little elephant is so cute!

I love merry go reounds but have never seen one (IRL) with any animals o them other than horses, so great to see the seal and tigers and other animals on there too.

Yeah having zoo related animals I though was so cool

👍

A great report about a beautiful place.

But where are the animals? 😀😀

Todays post shares some shots of the animals :)

all the photos you take are amazing. I like the mini train.

Thanks kindly your support is appreciated

Have a great day

You're welcome sir

That’s a shame to hear it wasn’t that well kept this time. It can have many reasons.
Maybe when more visitors go it will change.
Great captures and lovely to see the carousel has all kind of animals.
The little train is cute.
Thanks for sharing @tattoodjay 👋🏻😊
Have a great Friday evening!

Yes I am hoping with things picking back up it will improve and become charming again as it used to be

have a good weekend

Let’s hope…

Thanks a lot @tattoodjay 👋🏻😊 enjoy yours!

The seal ia the cutest indeed. I remember riding in that little train of Tom's World at the Mall when I was a kid. Such a fun experience, but I can't do it now. I never been lucky to enter such places like that, it's nice to have a virtual tour through your post.

Thanks that was so cute to see I must admit I did have a chuckle
