Hello StemSocial Community! Welcome to my blog. Science gives us an opportunity to understand the phenomena of nature and to experiment about the existence of different things. I like the branch of science physics because it looks dominant in many factors from everyday life. It makes things look not only artistic but interesting to me. Be it the weather changes from day to night or the sunlight reaching the earth, the flight of a plane in the sky or the floating of a ship in the ocean, this branch of science is involved in all things. In my this article, I have tried to explain the most common Phenomena in physics.
Electrostatic Charge
I hope you have read about the charge and their types positive and negative. Generally two like charges repel each other and two unlike charges attract each other. Charge flow is the kinetic process in an electric field. You have often noticed that charge flow is easier in metallic elements. Whereas charge flow in non-metallic elements seems not only difficult but impossible. In this article, I will discuss charge flow in non-metallic elements.
Have you ever wondered why the comb sticks to your hair while combing your dry hair? By the way, have you ever noticed how a hair comb attracts bits of paper? Both these factors are common in our daily life. Among these two factors, the most well-known process in physics is the role of electrostatic induction.
"Electrostatic induction is the phenomenon in which a charge induces a charge on another uncharged body in its presence."
Practical Procedure
We can demonstrate this process in our home with the help of a comb. Rub the comb through your dry hair. After a short period of rubbing, this comb will be charged. The charge on the comb is caused by the exchange of electrons between the comb and the hair. Now take this charged comb towards the small pieces of paper that are already uncharged bodies. When you move this charged comb to pieces of uncharged paper, the pieces seem to move toward the comb, and some of the more charged pieces of paper stick to the comb. The sticking of pieces of paper to a comb is a practical demonstration of electrostatic induction.
Further, to find out the type of charge on any body, we can take the help of an electroscope device. It consists of a metal rod and an aluminum foil. By its divergence and convergence in the presence of charged body, we can easily detect the presence of type of charge on the body.
Conclusion
Electrostatic induction is not only used in industries to filter particles, but this process is also helpful in various physical aspects of human life such as cloud lightning. Apart from this, this process can also be seen in cleaning dust particles on the floor for cleaning at home. I am learning a lot about this process and gaining knowledge about its great benefits. This is the reason why this topic was considered in my writing. I hope you like my writing, thank you!
