Hi guys! Where do I even start! I have missed you guys so much.
I have had such a crazy rollercoaster the last couple of years, with getting divorced and trying to grow my business whilst being a single mum and juggling bills and income.
It has been tough! I have had no time to even think about writing blogs, let alone putting it into action. But… I need to get back to it, so I am doing a quick update post with some beautiful bullies to make your day start with a smile 😊
These beauties are from my recent litter, just before Christmas time. I decided to use a brindle champion stud for the first time ever. I usually stick to solid reds as I just love them (everyone has their favourite right?), but The stud was absolutely stunning and healthy so I thought let’s see what happens.
Here is a picture of mum, Luna…
And the UK champion boy Andlare Everhard…
I am so happy that I chose this match. They really did produce stunning babies. All the tails were perfectly straight, apart from 1 slightly curly tail, and all their nostrils are open which is hugely important for breathing issues that bulldogs can suffer from if bred incorrectly.
The breed is under fire again with another European country banning bulldog breeding. Unfortunately, banning will only encourage unscrupulous breeders to go underground and they will continue breeding unhealthy puppies. It will also prevent good breeders, who health test and care about protecting the breed, from doing their job. The bulldog would essentially be doomed.
In my opinion, the government and the kennel club should focus on restricting registering litters to licensed breeders, who health test their dogs before mating. Licences should be there to check that breeders are adhering to the health tests and not just pumping out litter after litter.
It is a mine field at the minute. There is so much money changing hands with bad breeders and they aren’t being reprimanded so they have no incentive to stop. I will continue to strive to do my very best for the breed and hope that one day the correct changes will be put into place to save this iconic breed.
Back to my gorgeous babies! As it was almost Christmas time, we decided to do a festive photoshoot with the puppies for their new parents. Here are some of the pics…
This was my absolute favourite from the shoot, how gorgeous is this little boy above! 🥰
As you can see, we had a lovely mixture of red and whites, and brindles. I am so pleased with them all!
I have another litter due in a few weeks time. I have again used a Uk champion with my solid red girl, Mirren. I will keep you posted on how things go but I can’t wait to see just how beautiful these pups will be. I am hoping for some solid reds this time, but let’s see!
Much love, C and the bulldogs xx
