A day with a hedgehog and baby cats. Cats will be in tomorrows caturday blog ofcourse. Today I went to the new cat baby of my girl friend and just now I saw this hedgehog in the garden.

It was a scare and all because the dogs were barking. They were barking while I was doing the dishes and when I said that they needed to be quiet they didn’t listen. Normally they immediately stop, but not today, so there had to be something wrong!
Than when I looked out of the window and saw nothing I decided to walk outside and see.

That’s when I saw him! I think its a him, and the boys think he is a he aswell. So they called him Dirk.
I was so excited, but I probably scared the shit out of the little prickly boy. I quick went to get my phone but it was hard to take all great pictures and zoom in right. Here his paw and nose.

He was sitting like he was not there and when I came to close his face went under and the only thing I saw were his pricks.

These pictures were the best ones. When we went inside again the dogs stopped barking and we wanted to find out if we could do something for him.
Because probably he is in for his winter sleep.
Here in the Netherlands the best information for nature and garden you find on “ natuurmonumenten “. The advice is to make a place with a lot of leaves to be covered in while sleeping, or make a wooden house. We choose to collect leaves and made a pile in a corner in the garden. We decided to leave hime be , after that pile was made and hopefully see him again.

Oh , and the boys left milk and some dogfood on the spot where Dirk was as a sweet make up for the barking dogs and the picture taking blond women.

Update:
Just now we went to walk the dogs and Dirk was not in the spot anymore, If he is under the pile of leaves we don’t know because I didn’t want to dig and see. So I hope we have a tennant and he will have a great wintersleep. Thank you Dirk for being my Hive topic today and being my first stickly friend.
