3 or so years ago, my mom and dad purchased the cutest little Pomeranian puppy ever. My mom found a reputable breeder online, but the only thing is they lived 12 hours away in Iowa. Luckily, this breeder cared so much about where his puppies went that he was willing to hand deliver them the great distance needed. My family safely received the black and white Pom named Fritz that you will see in a few of today's photos, and he is also now fully grown.
Fast forward to now and my parents claimed they were totally satisfied with only Fritz around the house. They had no plans of getting another dog. Then my mom received a random message from the breeder saying he was getting rid of his very last litter of puppies before retiring from the business. At first, my mother wasn't sold. Then she told my dad and his first thought was that they needed to get one since they won't have another chance in the future. Of course, this instantly swayed my mom and the puppy purchasing process was underway.
They had two choices. A chocolate brown female and a black and tan male. My mom preferred to get another male, plus the chocolate one was several hundred dollars more than the other. Personally, I liked the black and tan best and that's the one they went with. Before he had even arrived, they decided upon the name Tito for the little guy. This instantly made me think of the highly respected UFC fighter Tito Ortiz from back in the day.
They still had most of the puppy supplies from when they got Fritz, which saved some money. They just had to anxiously wait for the dog to be delivered. I'm not sure how the breeder managed, but he made a 12-hour drive happen without any long stops. He then immediately drove 12 hours right back home once he met with my parents and swapped the puppy for cash.
The delivery happened on Saturday and @flowerbaby and I decided to give them an evening to get Tito settled in before bombarding him with attention. We went over to visit on Sunday and spent most of the day hanging out. We watched the Buffalo Bills lose to the New York Jets in some NFL football. The main draw was the cute little fluff ball, who also happened to be extremely friendly just like Fritz. In fact, these two have one parent in common, so that makes them half-brothers by blood.
My parents were both very happy to now have two Pomeranians around the house to love on and take care of. They've been living in an empty nest ever since my brother and I both moved out. I guess that means dogs are the perfect replacement for kids growing into adults. Now they once again have two boys under the same roof to keep their lives from getting boring.
Raising and training a puppy can be quite tiresome. They already told me that the first night he was there they didn't get any sleep at all. It's like having another baby all over again. Once they get through Tito's puppy stages it should be smooth sailing from there. I look forward to seeing how he evolves as he grows more mature. I'm sure I'll post more pictures of both Fritz and Tito in the future.
Enjoy the puppy pics!
