Our two accidentally adopted kittens [Esp-Eng]

At home we have not had pets for some time, in fact as we do not currently live in a house of our own we had not planned to have them, that and they are a great responsibility to which we must devote time and care. But things don't always happen the way you plan them.

I tell you that 3 weeks ago, one day in the morning I heard the meowing of baby kittens, I tried to find out where they were coming from, but I couldn't get them and I had to go out. So I forgot about it, that day when I arrived in the afternoon I saw two beautiful kittens curled up just right and when they heard us they ran away to hide, thinking about how they had gotten into the house, it only occurred to us that their mom could have brought them in.

En casa hace algún tiempo que no tenemos mascotas, de hecho como actualmente no vivimos en una casa propia no teníamos planeado tenerlas, eso y que son una gran responsabilidad a la que debemos dedicarle tiempo y cuidados. Pero las cosas no siempre pasan como uno las planea.

Les cuento que hace 3 semanas, un día por la mañana escuche los maullidos de gatitos bebé, traté de conseguir de donde venían, pero no los conseguí y debía salir. Así que lo olvidé, ese día cuando llegué por la tarde vi dos hermosas gatitas acurrucadas justas y que al escucharnos salieron corriendo a esconderse, pensando en cómo se habían metido a la casa, solo se nos ocurrió que su mamá pudo haberlas metido.

The thing is that we took them out a couple of times and somehow we still don't know how they got back in, so as it was late, we decided to leave them at night and wait for their mom to come and get them (that has happened to us on other occasions) but that didn't happen, the kittens between meows asked us for food and although the neighbor told us not to give them food because otherwise they would stay forever, I was weak, it broke my heart to know that they were hungry.

I didn't know it at the time, but the kittens had already decided that this would be their home. It was not complicated to gain their trust, in a matter of hours they were already approaching us, walking near us and even chasing us. In our case, there was no way for them to leave, because we had become very fond of them, so it became a routine to feed them when we woke up, to make sure they ate and drank water, because at the time they arrived they were still small.

El caso es que las sacamos un par de veces y de alguna manera que aún desconocemos se volvieron a meter, así que como era tarde, decidimos dejarlas en la noche y esperar a que su mamá viniera a buscarlas (eso nos ha ocurrido en otras ocasiones) pero eso no pasó, las gatitas entre maullidos nos pidieron comida y aunque el vecino nos dijo que no les diéramos comida porque sino se quedarían para siempre, yo fui débil, me rompía el corazón saber que tenían hambre.

En ese momento yo no lo sabia, pero las gatitas ya habían decidido que ese sería su hogar. No fue complicado ganarnos su confianza, en cuestión de horas ya se nos acercaban, caminaban cerca de nosotros y hasta nos perseguían. En nuestro caso, ya no había forma de que se fueran, porque les habíamos agarrado mucho cariño, así que se volvió una rutina darles de comer al despertarnos, estar pendientes de que comieran y tomarán agua, porque en el momento que llegaron seguían siendo pequeñas.

About 10 days ago, one of them got sick, she started to evacuate a lot and of a strange color, besides she was weak, not playful as she used to be, we were afraid that something was happening to her and as we don't know anything about cats and we don't believe too much in what the internet says, we decided to take her to her first emergency vet appointment, that day we knew that they were both females and they needed to be dewormed. So they got them both dewormed, even though only one had the symptoms at that time.

Neither my husband nor I imagined having cats at home, that was never a pet option, but things happened differently, so now we adopted these two cute kittens that already took over the house where we live and also they live making messes, even so, they already know where to go to the bathroom and also which is the exact place where they should eat.

Hace como 10 días, una de ellas enfermó, comenzó a evacuar mucho y de un color extraño, además de que estaba débil, no juguetona como solía serlo, tuvimos miedo de que le ocurriera algo y como no sabemos nada de gatos y no creemos demasiado en lo que dice el Internet, decimos llevarla de emergencia a su primera cita con el veterinario, ese día supimos que eran ambas eran hembras y que necesitaban desparasitarse. Así que las desparasitaron a las dos, aunque solo una tenía los síntomas en ese momento.

Ni mi esposo ni yo nos imaginabamos con gatos en casa, esa nunca fue una opción de mascotas, pero las cosas ocurrieron de otro modo, así que ahora adoptamos a estas dos lindas gatitas que ya se adueñaron de la casa en que vivimos y además se viven haciendo desastres, aún así, ya saben donde ir al baño y también cual es el lugar exacto en el que deben comer.

We named them Gamora Rutilo and Nebula Turmaline, as two Marvel characters that are sisters, daughters of Thanos and two precious stones that have their colors, black and white. They are very cute kittens, with abundant fur and ear tufts that make them even cuter. They are playful and spend their time climbing everywhere and then they can't get off, they definitely brighten up our days.

Les pusimos los nombres de Gamora Rutilo y Nébula Turmaline, como dos personajes de Marvel qué son hermanas, hijas de Thanos y dos piedras preciosas qué tienen sus colores, negro y blanco. Son gatitas muy lindas, de pelaje abundante y unos mechones en las orejas que las hacen más lindas aún. Son juguetones y se la pasan subiéndose en todas partes y luego no pueden bajarse, definitivamente alegran nuestros días.

And so, it was by accident, without planning it and in the moment even without wanting it, we adopted two kittens that became part of our little family. If you have any advice for first time cat parents it would be very welcome and if anyone knows how I can take care of their fur I would be grateful if you could share it with me.
