Bienvenida a la Familia Pegui (Spa-Eng)

  It's been thirteen days since my last post about her, and I can tell you that a little bit of everything has happened. After publishing that post, the dog started trying to get into the house, and with the rains coming into season she didn't think twice about staying in the garage.

  However, it took him a while to adjust, and at first, my parents and I were afraid that my puppies would do something to him. After a few days and after giving him his first bath (which was quite an odyssey because he wouldn't let himself be grabbed by nerves), it was obvious that that bath was the first bath in his whole life since he relaxed with so many cuddles and kisses we gave him while he was showering.

  To our surprise, my dogs did not do anything to her, but rather showed her affection by wagging their tails and sniffing her without growling or getting aggressive. Drako, for his part, the most he did was to try to ride her because she smelled different and the dog simply sought shelter under my dad's car.

  He still seeks shelter under the car, he spends most of the day there, except for some moments of the day when he tries to catch sunbaths. Already today he plays and shares a little more with Drako and Yara, but he is still afraid of them. So we go little by little.

  The other great detail of this new tenant, is that it was my dad who baptized her with the name of Pegui, for being hooked with us and looking for us so much hahaha. Nowadays, she is taking care of us by that name and little by little she is also stealing my parents' hearts.

  I go out every morning to try to cuddle her, hold her, and give her kisses but she stays under the car so I just give her her space. For now, I drink my coffee with her outside, waiting for her to come to me. There are only a few times she lets herself be held, she still gets nervous and thinks we will hurt her. It is unfortunate all the mistreatment she was given by her former owners. The other thing she did was that every time I went to pet her she would pee.

  She has stopped doing that but there is still another detail with her which is the craving to go outside. She usually escapes in the early mornings to go eat leftover food left by the neighbor on the front sidewalk or just wanders around the area looking for something and then comes back, sometimes we see her outside and call her with some dog food and she comes right away but other times she doesn't want to come.

  So we have that struggle with her right now. Another thing that scares her a lot is loud noises, like thunder or the sound of an airplane passing overhead. She runs away scared and we don't know where she goes, and then she comes back all shaky.

  Yesterday it rained a lot and she escaped while it was raining, she got all wet and after a lightning strike near my house, she came back all scared and I took the opportunity to bathe her with warm water. I left her in the bathtub while I waited for the rain to pass and the garage to dry so I could take her out again.

  I want to keep her inside the house, but since she is not spayed and we have Drako, having her inside now means that he marks territory all the time and urinates on the furniture. For this reason, I am trying to raise the money to have her operated on so I can be sure that there will be no more puppies in the house, nor will there be any fights because her hormones are altered during those periods of heat.

  To find out how much the operation of Pegui will cost, I had to weigh her and she is at 12 kg. The cost of sterilizing her comes to $150, which I don't have available at the moment and therefore I am doing Power Down in HIVE to cover that expense. But like everything in life, day by day other unforeseen events arise and well, here I go.

  I also took the opportunity to weigh Drako (the black with white) and he is at 16 kg, and Yara is at 21 kg! And well, I couldn't stop taking pictures of everyone to avoid jealousy, so here I share with you some selfies in which everyone wanted and demanded to participate. Yara is demanding LOL

  What do you think? Should I keep her inside the house or leave her in the garden? The work is not only with her but also with my parents. I hope everything goes well.   By the way, if any of you know any methods or techniques to get her to stop running away, let me know in the comments, I don't know what to do in that regard. It's like her intuition asking her to go outside. A bad habit.

  Han pasado trece días desde mi último post sobre ella, y les cuento que ha ocurrido de todo un poco. Luego publicar aquel post, la perrita empezó a tratar de entrar en la casa y con las lluvias entrando en temporada no lo pensó dos veces para quedarse en el garaje.

  Sin embargo, tardó en adaptarse y al principio yo y mis padres teníamos miedo de que mis perritos le hicieran algo. Luego de unos cuantos días y después de darle su primer baño (que fue toda una odisea porque no se dejaba agarrar por los nervios), era obvio que ese baño era su primer baño en toda su vida ya que se relajó con tantos mimos y besos que le dimos mientras se duchaba.

  Para nuestra sorpresa, mis perritos no le hicieron nada, más bien le mostraron cariño moviéndole la cola y oliéndola sin gruñirle ni ponerse agresivos. Drako por su parte, lo más que hacía era buscar montarla por oler diferente y la perrita simplemente buscaba refugio bajo el carro de mi papá.

  Aún busca refugio bajo del carro, pasa casi todo el día allí, excepto en algunos momentos del día en que busca agarrar baños de sol. Ya hoy juega y comparte un poco más con Drako y Yara, pero aún les tiene miedo. Así que vamos poco a poco.

  El otro gran detalle de esta nueva inquilina, es que fue mi papá quien la bautizó con el nombre de Pegui, por tener pega pega con nosotros y buscarnos tanto jajaja. Actualmente hace caso por ese nombre y poco a poco también le está robando el corazón a mis padres.

  Yo salgo todas las mañanas para intentar darle mimos, abrazarla y darle besitos pero se queda bajo el carro así que sólo le doy su espacio. Por ahora bebo mi café con ella afuera, esperando a que se acerque a mí. Son pocas las veces que se deja agarrar, ella aun se pone nerviosa y piensa que le haremos daño. Es lamentable todo el maltrato que le dieron sus antiguos dueños. Lo otro que hacía es que cada vez que le iba a acariciar se hacía pipi.

  Ha dejado de hacer eso pero aún queda otro detalle con ella que es el antojo de salir a la calle. Suele escaparse en las mañanas temprano para ir a comer sobras de comida que deja el vecino en la acera del frente o simplemente merodea por el área buscando algo y luego regresa, a veces la vemos afuera y la llamamos con algo de perrarina y viene enseguida pero otras veces no quiere venir.

  Entonces tenemos esa lucha con ella ahorita. Otra cosa que le asusta un montón son los ruidos fuertes, como los truenos o el sonido de un avión cuando pasa en el aire. Sale corriendo asustada y no sabemos a dónde se va, luego regresa toda temblorosa.

  Ayer llovió mucho y se escapó mientras llovía, se mojó toda y después de un relámpago que calló cerca de mi casa, se regresó toda asustada y aproveché para bañarla con agua tibia. La dejé en la batea mientras esperaba que pasara la lluvia y se secara el garaje para volverla a sacar.

  Yo la quiero tener adentro de la casa, pero como no está esterilizada y tenemos a Drako, tenerla adentro ahorita implica que él marque territorio a cada rato y orine los muebles. Por tal razón estoy buscando reunir el dinero para operarla y así estar tranquila de que no habrá más perritos en la casa, así como tampoco habrán peleas por tener las hormonas alteradas en esos periodos de celo.

  Para saber cuánto sale la operación de Pegui, tuve que pesarla y está en 12 kg. El costo de esterilizarla sale en 150$ que actualmente no tengo disponible y por lo tanto estoy haciendo Power Down en HIVE para cubrir ese gasto. Pero como todo en la vida, día con día surgen otros imprevistos y bueno, allí voy pues.

  Aproveché también de pesar a Drako (el negro con blanco) y está en 16 kg, Yara por su parte está en 21 kg!. Y bueno, no pude dejar de tomarle fotos a todos para evitar los celos, así que aquí les comparto unas selfies en las que todos quisieron y exigieron participar. Yara es exigente jajaja

  ¿Ustedes qué opinan? ¿debería tenerla adentro de la casa o dejarla en el jardín? El trabajo no es nada más con ella sino también con mis padres. Espero que todo fluya para bien.
