I wrote earlier about my preparations to adopt a dog soon. I still haven't gotten the expensive Porch Potty yet, but I have gotten other things, and am close to my goals of being prepared aside from that. Just a few more things on my wish list!

I got a big dog bed, that is memory foam on the inside pretty much the same as my mattress topper, so hopefully it is comfy for them. Henry doll for scale. :)

I got the bag holder that attaches to the leash to hold poop bags, and the bone shape is a holder to hold the full bags until you can get to a trash can so you don't have to keep them in your hand.

The toybox! I dug this basket out of my cupboard to be the toybox. I already got the Wubba toy last time, and since then I have added the dragon, triceratops, alligator, non-rubber balls (I'm allergic to latex so I was looking for non-rubber alternatives to some toys), and the Toppl, which is the cup thingy meant to hold treats like peanut butter, canned pumpkin, yogurt, etc., and you can freeze it. Other variations on this idea like Kongs or Pupsicles are real rubber, so this was from the same place as the balls to be latex-free. Shout out to West Paw for having rubber alternative toys!

And you may have noticed the buttons! I added a 4-pack to the two I already had for the kitties (Chewy had a "buy 3 get 1 free" deal on toys, and the buttons counted, so that was the buttons and 3 dolls). The first words we will try are waßer, noms, potty (for the porch potty), walk, play, and pets or scritches (haven't decided which to use there yet).

And finally, I got a toothbrush/toothpaste kit:

So I still have some grooming things, the Nylabone, more poop bags, and the Porch Potty to get, and then I think I am ready as far as I can be before knowing what kind of dog I'm getting (like, I can't get a collar or harness until I know their size, etc.).

I have made the Porch Potty my goal on my Ko-fi, not that I am really expecting donations, but just in case, it would really help my poor ass out, so it doesn't hurt to ask. :) Any secret crypto millionaires here? I have all the love, just not all the money. ;)

Anyway, every little step toward getting a new doggie friend gives me a little hope. I need someone to love and take care of to give me a reason to get up in the morning, yanno?
