I get requests all the time, everyday it seems for help from people with their pets.
Mostly it has to do with families who are too busy to deal with the extra work needed for their pets proper care.
They built their families and have too much going on trying to maintain everything by themselves and need an extra hand.
If you have ever dealt with a problem arising from your pet maybe you can relate to their pain?
I grew up with several family pets so I certainly can and I have always enjoyed helping out with pets.
Pet care services are therapeutic for me so I look forward to every encounter and opportunity to help.
This pack in particular has some slight behavioral issues and needs some help with training.
In my time doing pet care I also practice training when I get a chance and have the permission of the owners.
I like to discuss with the owners about their preferred training methods and schools and see it as an opportunity for further development on my end and for the dogs.
These dogs are using a gentle lead leash system that discourages pulling without causing damage to the trachea.
They are still doing a lot of pulling but with less painful pullback.
I am going to be walking them for the rest of summer and we are going to be working on that during this time.
Walking dogs that are constantly pulling can be a hazard to you, the dogs and those around you.
I study a lot of different training techniques on youtube and encourage my clients to do the same.
Would love to actually get ABC certified some day in all of my services when I can afford it.
I dont really have a favorite trainer yet but I have been following quite a few schools of thought in dog training.
Who are your favorite trainers?
Yankee the golden boy has what I call an obsessive ball chasing disorder. His owners love to take him into the backyard for a nice session of "ball".
I noticed his high anxiety basically spilling over into the other dogs after my second visit with them. Taking him for more regular walks actually gives him an alternative outlet for his energy and has improved his overall anxiety.
When I was first introduced to this bunch, i was warned that the smaller black dog Shea was aggressive towards men.
So far so good since we have broken that barrier and are moving onto the next issue.
The family is taking a vacation to Disney land in a week so I will have a chance to spend some more time with their wild pack of family dogs.
Thanks for reading!
Stay tuned for some more walks and hopefully talks of training and pet care adventures.
