Safety is one of the most paramount things to mankind. Before going out, you hear a lot of people ask if the place is safe and things like that. No one wants to get hurt or die even though we all will eventually die.
The world is so full of so much chaos these days and we hear about kidnapping, killings and so much more which is a way to maybe signify that the world is no more a safe place but not everywhere.
We still have so many countries that as safe even though so many are no more safe but let me talk about Nigeria, my country.
How safe is Nigeria?
Nigeria is a very safe country but that was then. Right now, this country is a kind of country where you’d have to look at your back or everywhere around you every ten minutes to be sure that you are safe. I’m not exaggerating.
It might have been better if it is the total areas that are not safe but no, we have bigger estates that get robbed almost everyday.
My mum traveled a few days ago and I was very scared because a lot of people who travel these days are maybe kidnapped or tried to be kidnapped and they were eventually escaped.
It would have been better if the police officers are doing something to combat the issue but they are not. The only thing you hear them say is that they will look into it but all their efforts will be futile at the end of the day.
You may be having an evening walk and see some people by your side asking you for your properties or they will gun you down if you don’t comply. If it was you, what would you have done? The best thing will be to comply so you don’t get killed, right?
If the country was safe, will things like this happen?
There is also an Islamic group named Boko Haram in this country and they always aim at killing non Christians. Since we are all from the same countries, are we supposed to be killing each other?
In this country, there are robbery operations everywhere, killings and even cybercrime.
This is why we see that so many people run away from Nigeria if they ever find the opportunity to.
Nigeria isn’t a safe country but I’m sure someday that Nigeria will be great again.
