Money is one thing every human needs. My first experience earning money really opened my eyes to many things. I got to know that before you put food on your table, you need to work for it. My first experience making money really sharpened my mindset. I can’t talk about my financial life without talking about the very first day I earned my own money.
My first time making money
After my secondary school, while waiting for admission, I decided to go and work to assist my family. I stay in a commercial area, and I applied for sales personnel. At first, it was not easy for me. I was even having a second thought about whether I should stop the work. But if I continued with the work, it was really challenging because most times customers will talk to you rudely. Like the saying goes, customer is always right, and the first month was really hell.
Things my first money making experience though me.
I got to know that truly life is not easy. Back then, my mom will always tell me that in time, you will understand what the world is all about. Making my first money made me realise all these things my mom was telling me.
I got to learn how to budget myself. Knowing how I suffer to earn my first money, I only consider things that are priorities. If I start living within my budget before I spend my money, I will really be on something very important.
It also reminded me of the act of patience, because whenever you are serving the public, you need patience in order to accommodate your customers. This particular patient has really helped me since I started my own business. I know how many customers this act has brought me.
How did I feel when I got my first money?
I was very happy touching my first salary. I felt this independence inside me, and I was so proud of myself. My first income was ten thousand naria, which should be about 10 dollars. This was my first time touching such an amount. I want to go home to show my mom my first money. She was so proud of me.
Making money is not easy at all. Most times, I have to stand in the rain, calling customers to come and buy from us. My first experience made me realise that making money is not easy because it is full of challenges. The majority of the time, I will have to walk from my house to my workplace.
In general, making money is not easy; it has to come with sacrifice, focus, and determination.
I appreciate earning my first money because it sharpens my mind. I am where I am today because of the lessons I learned when making my first money.
