IndiaUnited Weekly Contest #18: my most used application

My biggest time taking app is Twitter now known as X. It’s a Platform that delights my heart so much and I’ve come to love it over and over again. My first introduction into this platform was around 2016, then I use it for sport update to follow my team - Manchester United.I never knew how to use the app then. I was what you could call a ghost user. I breeze in, check some sport handle and then breeze out.

Then in 2019, I got the first taste of using the app more frequently. I was always on it, checking out tweets and retweets. Yet I wasn’t really posting on it. I just scroll through it and then do some checking out and follow big accounts that resonate with me.

2020, was lockdown and that was the first time I had a good taste of being an active member of twitter. The lockdown was a phase everyone experienced. It was damn boring for some and I was included in that. Social media was a way to cure the boredom that set in during that time. So I also took to Twitter to share some of my thoughts. The stuff got real during the #EndSARS protest that happened in Nigeria as at that time. I had to use my account to support the protest, though I wasn’t on the ground physically to show support. After 2020, I was still a bit active and all but matching both school and social media wasn’t a good fit.Considering the fun that comes with being in a school area, I lost my passion for Twitter.

2022, I picked it up again and since then, till this moment, I have never left it and I don’t think I would leave it at all. I try to speak on my years on that social media to let you know how much I’ve been on it before I became an active member. One of the reasons why I love Twitter is for its thoughts and how diverse it is.

From Twitter I’ve learnt a lot of things from what people tweet and what they recommend. I’ve had a lot of discourse that have self my interest in different way. It has also given me a sense of community and then help my life as a learner, reader and writer.Twitter is a good platform to learn a lot of things. Sometimes I read what people tweet and them I ghasp at how vast people think and how they were able to explain their thought process. It has helped me a lot to also research more on my thoughts and affirm a good rate of the subject matter. On an average of 24 hours a day, I’m on Twitter at least for 8 hours. It’s my most used app as I also use it as a platform to air my thoughts and interact with people also.

Twitter is an interesting space. lately, I equally saw myself growing fond of twitter spaces.

you did a nice job by supporting the protest through your twitter account.

I love twitter very much man. The thought process of most accounts I follow is something to behold.
Sadly I don’t do much for spaces.

Thanks for stopping by🫶🏾

You're welcome

By the way, now Twitter is banned in Pakistan, but earlier when I used to use Twitter, I also loved it because I used to get any kind of knowledge or anything that a person wanted for their personal growth. I used to use Twitter a lot, but gradually I cut back on social apps.

Why is Twitter banned? You must’ve missed a lot on there man
