Hello everyone, It is my pleasure to participate in this amazing contest of #indiaunited. The topic is about my favorite season.
My favorite season is the harmattan season; it always happens from November to December and is always accompanied by the Christmas season, which makes it outstanding to me. These are a few reasons I like the harmattan season.
First, during the harmattan season, the weather is neutral; there's no rain to stop people from going to places, and there's no excess heat from the sun. The wind is always cold, bringing relief from heat. Second, during the harmattan season, there's always a decrease in malaria because mosquitoes find it difficult to breed during the season.
Third, in the harmattan season, a person can enjoy sound sleep. It is always better to sleep in a cold room where you can easily warm yourself up with a blanket or coat and socks than in a hot environment, most especially when there's no light to turn on the fan or AC; sleep goes far away from you.
Forth, during the harmattan season, clothes are easily dried up. I could remember vividly that during that season, when I was preparing to go to an event at noon, I had a dress I wanted to wear to the event, but I found out it was dirty. Although I had other clothes, that particular cloth was perfect for that event, so I decided to wash it to see if I could still wear it to the event. It was not up to 40 minutes; the dress was dry, so I ironed it and wore it to the event.
The fifth reason is that, during this season, people are compelled to dress modestly, especially ladies who wear revealing clothes. They can no longer wear them but would rather wear clothes that cover them in order to keep warm.
Lastly, the holiday season is always accompanied with the Christmas season, another beautiful season of celebration. Christians celebrate it as a reminder of the birth of Jesus Christ. People travel in the cold weather to spend the Christmas holiday with their loved ones. Christmas carols are sang, Christmas trees and decorations, special meals, and so on. Nevertheless, the harmattan season also has its dark side, and so do other seasons of the year. But looking at the good side of it, harmattan season is my favorite.
