"If I had known, I would have joined earlier and not feel reluctant about it"

This was me feeling regretful and blaming myself few weeks when I eventually joined Hive and saw how other people's wallets were drooping like blood slowly gushing out from someone's body. I had to let go of those thoughts to focus on my new journey instead of dwelling on my regrets and reluctance to register.

This was how it happened and how I eventually found my way to the Hive blockchain...

I have been writing since 2016 and it has never been a problem for me to start bringing my ideas into writing. I started on Steemit blockchain in 2016 where I was first introduced by my immediate younger sister who gave me the task of writing for her while she paid me as she was a student in the university then. She needed someone to write for her while she focused on her academics, hence, giving me the job. So, writing has never been an issue, especially for someone who always writes on different topics each day.

Fast forward to the year 2020, I had left Steemit after 2 years of joining because the platform was so strict in earning and I couldn't continue. I met uptrennd where I got to meet Dreemsteem who was called Tigerlily on the platform. After a year or so, the platform crashed. That was when I got to know about Hive when Dreemsteem told us that we could continue our project there. I felt sceptical about it as I was told it looked similar to Steemit.

I had concluded Hive wasn't for me because of how strict it would be and one wouldn't be earning as much as they expected just like on Steemit. I was all wrong but then, I still wasn't convinced that it was a good platform. For someone who understands the principle that a little drop of water makes an ocean, I didn't find myself getting that patient to come on board.

During that period when uptrennd crashed, I found another platform called Readcash where I get tipped daily on my posts. Every day, I earn nothing less than $10 and on some days, more. That opportunity got me so enticed to it that I didn't remember Hive again. I kept doing my thing on the platform for over a year.

One particular night, I was chatting with a friend who I had known from uptrennd and was on readcash and then on Hive.

That evening we were chatting, and she just brought Hive up again. She was even surprised that I wasn't on Hive yet for someone who loves writing so much. I told her I just didn't see myself writing on Hive because it was too strict. I kept saying Hive is strict instead of finding out myself. She pushed me to at least try first and see for myself. We talked so much that night that she kept telling me to sign up as she would remind me again.

That night, I still contemplated and I just couldn't sleep that night. I had to create my account reluctantly on the 30th of March, 2021. I said to myself, "I will only sign up and forget about it. I can't divide myself into two; writing on Readcash and then on Hive". I said this but eventually pushed myself to open an account.

After creating an account and writing one jargon introductory post, lol. My mind wasn't there at all, I left the account and focused on Readcash. A few months later, I saw signs of the platform going down when I noticed the tips being given were reducing, I had to move to Hive to begin my journey.

Even at that, I still wasn't consistent in posting. It was me posting today and coming back after 2 or 3 days to post. All this while, I never tried to copy any of my posts on readcash to Hive because I loved writing and finding new ideas on what to write and it wasn't an issue.

When I finally got interested in Hive, I decided to enrol in the newbies initiative hosted by Starstrings which lasted for 3 months. Trust me, after that initiative ended, I was motivated and decided to focus my time on Hive engaging so much that a day would not pass by without visiting the blockchain. The initiative exposed me to lots of things I was missing out on and that was when I had that above statement of my regret not joining when I should have.

Hive blockchain which I thought was strict became easier for me because I was able to learn lots of things and saw how it works. When I first started, I was not earning much, like getting 0.1 cents on my posts, but gradually, things started changing because I decided to continue writing consistently. I joined communities that hosted prompts and contests and interacted so much and a lot has changed ever since then.

I thought Hive wasn't for me but here I am after 3 years still kicking and doing fine. I am so grateful for the push and motivation from other Hivians who have been my friends today. Constant checking of their wallets got me to push myself up to this stage as I thought that if they could achieve that, I could achieve it too. It has been an amazing journey so far on the blockchain.

This is my response to the prompt question from the #indiaunited community which can be found here

Let me run and check your wallet too so that I can be motivated. 🤣🤣🤣

Wow, you've been a writer all along, good story!! Thanks for sharing.

Hahaha 😀 that time, I used to check people's wallet every single morning and that really helped motivated me too and kept me going.
Thank you, sis.

I wish I could be as motivated as you are. There are days I am motivated to write, and there are days that no matter how hard I try to write, the motivation just isn't there.

Yes, it happens to me too but one way, I tend to get up and do it. Most times, taking a walk around will do.

I would try putting that into practice. Thank you 🙏

It's my pleasure 😊

Hive is a home for everyone that wish to explore.
Is good that you listened to your friend and I think you owe her a gift 😁

Hahaha yes, you are right. Funny enough, she isn't writing on Hive for a while now. I guess she is preoccupied with lots of things offline.

We share things in common and I started on steemit as well before finding Uptrend while Dreemsteem taught us how to become a better writer and here we are today...

Honestly, I wished I had joined hive earlier but it's never late because we are here now that's what matters.

Exactly. Better late than never and we thank God we started when we did and have earned and learned a lot.

I thought Hive was steemit itself. Does it mean that steemit is still functioning till date?
You've really been here for a very long time👏.
Your post is motivating me to write consistently but it's not easy especially when you put your all into a post and end up getting nothing from it 😅
#dreemport

Hive was forked from steemit due to some beef then. Steemit should still be functioning but won't make sense since most people migrated and transferred all their earnings to Hive. It isn't easy though but one just have to keep going. The best thing is to focus on communities that support a lot and also tweeting your post via inleo.

Oh wow! That's pretty interesting.
Yh, that's true. Ive not been using the Leo front end for awhile now. I'll do that, thanks for the tip

Good a thing you listened to your friend and joined Hive. No time is late, the most important thing is to start.

Yes. No time is late. Thank you for reading.

As I am reading this your write up, I say see how Princess treated our sweet hive like a broke boyfriend 😂🤣😂.

Truly you don't judge a book by it's cover, plus it's not how far but how well. See how far you've come on hive, how well you've grown, the people you've come to know as your online family...

If you check well, you'd see that the benefits on hive far outweighs all you got from readcash including the least $10 you were earning.

While readcash na sugar daddy Wei dey pay, hive is the understanding boyfriend, the man of your youth, that you both can weather the storm together.

Congratulations on your milestone babe, more HBD to your wallet ❤️

Then, I realized the richness I have been underestimating 🤣🤣

Oh girl, you know how to play with words 🤣🤣🤣🤣 see lines naw....

Hive is the best by far to me and I am glad I took it serious later. I have made more than what I got from readcash.

Thank you for your beautiful comment ❤️ 💕

You are welcome dear 😘

Where do you even get the motivation to write from? I think I need such motivation. For the past few months, I can stay a week without posting or even thinking about it. Sometimes I just browse through it and see people posts,i read but don't comment even to post mine will be difficult.

Hahaha. I am used to it already. It has been over 3 yrs now and still counting. I just find the motivation to write when I see people doing it daily too.

I can't find that kind of motivation but keep up the good work.
