I want to respond to this question that came up one time in the #memoirmonday initiative where @ericvancewalton asked us to share about our next door neighbor. I will be sharing about a neighbor we had living next building to ours.
Wrong Concept In Life
Many people have a wrong mentality to life. They believe that life is all about fighting others to gain dominion. But sadly, that is not how life is. Life is a game of fair play. We should take issues simple and friendly. Also they should be understanding when living among other people.
We had this neighbor who was addicted to fighting. She was always fighting everyone and in that case, she didn't have many friends in the community. Even new dwellers tend to run away from acquaintance with her because of her horrible lifestyle. She made more enemies in the community than friends. Such was the lifestyle of my cruel neighbor.
Her bad life made the husband think of marrying another wife. The husband later went in with another woman.
There is no good in having a harsh life. I have learned that from that lady. She wasn't regarded in society for any good reason.
One day, it was early in the morning, we heard a shout coming out of their house. She had some tenants living with her then since it was the husband who built the house. There were two other tenants who rented the apartment. So, that fateful morning, we heard that screaming of someone shouting out of pain. We rushed to the scene and discovered that this lady has use a heavy stick to inflict injury on one of the ladies who was living with them. It was a horrible scene. Everyone around tried to take the lady to the clinic where she was treated. The case later led to that lady sleeping in the police custody for some days.
Some neighbors can be harsh and horrible, especially women. We should try to be good neighbors to those we are living together with. There is no use projecting one’s self as the bad egg in the community.
