I remember my boys having a go at one of the Warhammer games in a Games Workshop that we were passing, they had a lot of fun playing their little skirmish (youngest won because eldest has inherited his father's dice curse XD got told "you need to roll higher than 7" on his two dice so he rolled 2 or 3) but I am so glad they didn't get into it, looks like a more expensive hobby than cardboard crack MtG.

I think I understand the excitement of getting back into an old hobby though, I remember the feeling when a couple of years ago eldest asked me to run a game for him and his friends and we have on and off continued ever since and I've gotten that inspired I made a couple of roleplay servers though with the amount of advertising I do for them (none at all) they haven't exactly taken off XD

You going to play solo or find others to fight with? :D

It can be ridiculously expensive... but it's also been around for 35+ years... so you can actually pick up a ton of cheap models on eBay, etc. It's like anything collectible I think, you either pay with money or pay with effort and patience.

I had about 2 weeks over Christmas with either no power, no water or no internet, and realized I could use a non-screen-based pastime.

Ridiculously, there is a local gaming store literally 14 minutes from my house, and Monday nights are 40K nights... so once I'm painted up I'll be looking to bring the mayhem - but at the moment I'm enjoying learning 10 trillion rules and learning how to paint the tiniest possible things.

What happened to all your services D:

The weather! Ice storms and cyclone winds and trees down, oh my.

That'd do it D:
