Kafi smiled deeply as the shower water cascaded down her body. Inhaling deeply, her smile deepened as the smell of blood and water filled her nostril.
Chuckling deeply, memories of how the blood came to be filled her mind as...
"Honey! I am home..." The cheery voice of Jake, her husband, filled her eardrum.
Putting off the shower in a rush, Kafi wrapped a towel around her petite frame body as she left the bathroom.
Quickly going to the room's door, her hands found the keys as she locked the door.
"Geez! Why is he back early? There's still some things to put in place.” she mumbled.
Rushing over to the roughened bed, Kafi arranged it before bringing out her dress and undies to wear.
She applied some oil on her body before putting on her dress when she heard the lock being turned. "No... no, not yet." she said under her breath as she stared at herself in the room's mirror.
"Babe... are you in?" Jake asked with a deep baritone voice, making Kafi's toes curl with delight.
"He'll be the death of me." she muttered quietly.
Looking at her face in the mirror, Kafi wore a smile. "Don't be down, Kafi! You are perfect." she said to herself as she stared at the makeup purse she just got a few days ago.
She wasn't a makeup person, but she had been learning how to make up from youtube videos for some weeks now. How to draw her eyebrow and more all in preparedness for today and now... her plans weren't in fate's favor.
"Honey? Are you in? Are you okay?" Jake called out with a panic as he banged on the door.
Picking up lipstick from the makeup purse, Kafi planted it on her lips before picking up mascara to work on her eyelashes. Staring at the new glass bottle of a perfume that matched the occasion, Kafi smiled more before spraying it on herself.
Looking at herself in the mirror again, she smiled more before staring at the door.
"He sure is ready to break down the door." She said before walking to the door and opening the locked door.
"What, ha..." Jake said midway with his mouth open agape as he stared at his wife. "Ka...Kafi?" Jake called with eyes wide open.
"What? When... I.." Drawing her closer with her hip, the smell of the perfume drifted more into Jake's nostril, making him moan quietly. "Mine." He added before his lips devoured hers.
Right at their room doorway with her husband, Kafi smiled sheepishly as she kissed him back. Placing her hands on his chest, she stopped him midway. "Shhhh, before we go further, you have to do something first." Kafi stated before bringing up her finger, which had a cut on it while she was preparing the meal they'll be having soon.
"You cut yourself? Oh, my damsel." Jake said. Bringing her finger to his lips, Jake rained kisses on it. "This will make it heal faster before I apply a bandage on it." He said.
Giggling like a 3 year old, Kafi stared at her husband. "I always love it when you kiss my wounds. I cut myself while cooking. I just washed it with water, finished cooking, and headed in to shower. But why are you home early?" Kafi asked with a lazy pout.
"First, I can't wait to eat what you prepared with a heart filled with a heavy supply of love and secondly..." Jake said before staring at his wife lovingly. Walking her to the bed, he went over to the first aid box in their room to pick up a bandage before sitting beside her and applying the bandage before speaking.
"...secondly, I wanted to surprise you by taking you out to dinner. I wanted us to prepare together and go out together, but it was nice coming home to see all this. The way you decorated the room and all and the smell of the food and the perfume. That's new, and I love the smell." Jake responded.
Chuckling deeply, Kafi smiled while holding on to her husband's hands. "I know today is a special day for us. The day we met at the beach. It was the last night of summer. It was a beautiful night because I met you and I know the tradition after 5 years of marriage was to always go to the beach where we met to celebrate the last night of summer together. But, I wanted to do something different tonight, and we can go out the next day to the beach. So, I prepared all these..." blushing slightly with her eyes closed, she added, "I wanted to make up and do so much, but I wasn't able to do it, and I am glad. Speaking of the perfume, hehe, the name and later the smell was what made me get it."
"Just know you are perfect with the makeup you did. Hmm, this makes me feel like you want me to guess the name of the perfume, right?" Jake questioned. Nodding her head with a smile, Kafi answered.
"Well... the name... hmm. I... I... lol, your beauty is distracting me, I can't think clearly." Jake responded.
Letting out a hearty laugh, Kafi held tightly on her husband's hands. *"So, you bail, uhn? Okay. Last night of summer and farewell was written below. Can you believe it?" Kafi asked with a wide expression on her face.
"Wow... wow. I would never have thought of that. And now that I think about it, the perfume did give the last night of summer’s smell mixed with autumn. That's strangely superb, and I am glad you got it." Jake said before kissing his wife.
"Calm down, Mister. The night is still young. I have a lot of things planned." Kafi said with a chuckle.
"Tell me..." Jake asked sweetly.
"Well, there's food, games, music, and champagne, then the rest will speak for themselves." Kafi answered as she walked to the meal which was covered. "Bonne appetit, mi amor." Kafi added with a smile.
Walking closer to where the food was placed, Jake sat before inhaling the air around him with a deep smile. Picking up his fork and knife, he dug into the food, savoring the taste with his eyes closed.
Hours or was it several minutes, Kafi couldn't tell as she and Jake dined and played games and even reminisced on days they were courting.
"It is time for music! Yippee!" Kafi screamed before pressing a button which brought the music to life.
Switching off the light and opening the curtain a bit, Jake lit up the candles in the room.
With the moon, star and the lighted candle in the room, Jake walked to his beloved, stretching his hands to lift up his wife as Ed sheeran song, "Shape of you" filled up the atmosphere.
