In the small town of Garfield, deep in the night, a group of mischievous youths craved an adventure of their own by venturing into a dense forest that was on the outskirts of the town and rumored to have strange occurrences. They had planned to summon a spirit and communicate with it using a ritual they had found on a witchcraft spell site. Little did they know that the ritual they were about to perform would change their fate.
As they went deeper into the forest, the floor was slick with dew, the trees loomed tall like eerie sentinels, and their shadows lengthened like spectral tentacles. The air was cold, with a chilling breeze, and the leaves rustled with a whispering sigh. They reached a clearing where they placed their candles in a circle made up of salt and mistletoe, and then began reciting the incantation. Suddenly, they felt a strange energy ignite around them, and the wind picked up.
Grinning, they thought they had summoned a spirit and were overjoyed with the success of their ritual. But things took a dark turn when they saw a figure emerging from the shadows as the wind began to rise and the stench of sulfur was thick in the air. It was a strange creature with glowing eyes and sharp teeth. Terrified and realizing that they had made a grave mistake and seeing terror in each other's eyes, they knew they had summoned a blight.
The creature let out a deafening roar, and the group scattered in different directions with their screams echoing loud and clear, trying to find a way out of the forest. They heard the creature's footsteps and growls as it chased them through the woods. One by one, the creature began to snatch them by their feet. They screamed in terror, but it was too late. The creature was too strong, too dark, and too fast. It was like it had been waiting for them, and they had given it an invitation through their ritual.
As the creature claimed its final victim, the forest fell silent once. The only sound that remained was the eerie whisper of the leaves in the wind. But fate had other plans for the mischievous youths and it brought help.
A woman known as the town's "mad old woman" was watching them from afar when they walked past her going to the forest. She had always been rumored to be insane, muttering to herself and performing strange rituals in the woods. But as the creature appeared yet again for as many victims as it could get, the old woman removed her tattered drape and stepped forward to reveal herself to be a powerful witch, not mad at all, but full of damaging powers and magic.
With a flick of her wrist and a whispered incantation, she commanded the creature to stop in its tracks and forced it to knees before her. The creature let out a deafening scream as it fought against her spell, but she was too powerful for it to resist. Surrendering the mischievous youths to her, she appeases the creature with a deer from the forest. Giving out an unsatisfied shriek, the creature returned back in the shadows in a burst of violent wind.
"Don't let adventures take you to a dark place from which you cannot return," warned the old woman, before leaving the forest and letting them find their own way home.
