Hey guys :D I have a backlog of poems over the years, a handful I've shared elsewhere and some I haven't. pretty sure this is on the haven't side of the scale lol but if not it is my poem though if it has been shared elsewhere it was a shorter version, I edited and added a bit before posting here :P hope you enjoy and thanks for reading!

The Voice In My Head
There’s a voice inside my head, that apparently hates my guts.
Every time I try to move on in life, it says things that make me nuts.
It tells me of how I am worthless, and how no one could ever feel love,
For someone so fucked up as me, and how I’ll never rise above.
It tells me of how ugly I am, until all I see reflected is a beast.
It tells me of how no one would care at all, if my life were to suddenly cease.
It tells me of how fat I am, no matter how much weight I drop,
And how the only peace I’ll know, is when my heart decides to stop.
It tells me I’m a monster, to consider inflicting myself on someone new.
And how I should just crawl in a hole, till I have the nerve to carry through.
Tells me my ideas are stupid, no matter what anyone has to say,
Tells me no matter how friendly they are, one day they will betray.
It whispers every day and night, even haunts me in my sleep,
Every moment of every day, designed purely to make me weep.
I don’t know if it wants my life, or if it’s merely meant to cause me pain.
All I know is the voice is killing me, and I’m just trying to maintain.
