Scholar and Scribe and Dreemport are proud to announce a brand spanking new event for August: The Late Days of Summer Hold your excitement, I know. 😱 We have collaborated with Dreemport in the past but this is the first time we are trying out this type of event. I hope you all leave us your feedback and tell us if you would like something similar in the future! 🙌

This event ran for 3 weeks, 3 contests all centered around one theme. We have over 30 (now 40) Hive in prize money for the entire event - not to mention a lot of tokens. The thematic undertones are that of joy, sun, and sweat, with each week's prompt highlighting a new aspect of the Late Days of Summer. 😎

It came as a stranger tumbling our walls giving us a run for our lives, a mystery it was called the tides that changed the flow of time leaving us in constant awe of what could have been. We weren't as privileged as the rest of world, we celebrate our victories and good memories at a time having it in mind autumn was near. We wished for nothing but for summer to last a lot longer than it would, helpless we were, just humans with no abilities to change tides of seasons but yet we prayed and hoped for the impossible.

Shai wiped the tiny pores of sweat from her temples. It was a long day at a job she didn't like. She was only a waitress for the money. All she wanted was enough comfort to be able to spend the rest of her life writing. In a fast-paced world. Writing was the only thing that brought peace and calm to her heart. She looked to the left and right of the bustling street before she crossed to the other side. All she needed was a quick meal, a cold bath, and a lovely book to end the day.

Everyone loved summer but I hated it. I hated everything that had to do with summer because during summer, most people are eager to flaunt their summer bodies in sundresses, bikinis and the likes. I looked at myself once again. Turtlenecked top paired with a knee-length pleated skirt. A perfect outfit to keep my scars hidden from the pitiful eyes of people around me. My colleagues think I'm a religious freak so wearing this to a beach party wouldn't seem out of the norms to them where I'm concerned.

You came out in droves for the sake of the craft (and prizes, but the craft mostly 😛). We read so many amazing stories and characters - our libraries are forever blessed with your wonderful works. Not only did you prove yourselves to be amazing Scribes, but your thoughtful activity and engagement declared you are amazing Scholars as well. This was never in question, as this event is not the first Dreemport collaboration we've hosted, and I pray it won't be the last.
I would like to thank @penderis for helping make this all possible. Our conversations were always productive and inspiring, I hope we can work together again in the future! 😎
