Thanks to the awesome team at Leo Finance, we’re able to pilot an incredible weekly author spotlight program here at Scholar & Scribe. The Author of the Week will receive:
- A share of the rewards of these announcement posts (some of Hive’s biggest accounts will be voting)
- Inclusion in a digest that will be heavily marketed on Web2 (e.g. Twitter, Reddit)
- If this experiment proves successful, much much more is planned
✅ Vote for this week’s author!
👉 Head to the poll here to vote!
The Hive community has the final say in who wins. Below are the four S&S finalists for Week 1. There is a link to a Leo Threads poll before and after the list. Note: when you vote, the poll may not reflect your vote right away. It can take a few minutes to fully update.
Voting closes on Sunday evening. Winner will be announced in next week’s poll post.
Finalists for Week 1
- @mellindor’s Grave Matters, Pt 5.
- @kemmyb’s The Heirloom, Pt 2
- @litguru’s New Shiny Things
- @amirtheawesome1’s Caravan of Dogs

How to vote?
- Make sure you’re signed in to Leo Threads. It uses Hive Keychain.
- Go to the linked poll thread above and cast a vote
- The poll will refresh and show you some results. Note: your vote may not be reflected immediately.
🤔 How are the 4 finalists chosen each week?
Scholar and Scribe admins or mods are responsible for nominating 4 finalists every week. Here’s some insight (in no particular order) into how these posts and authors are chosen. This may change over time:
- The storytelling is strong and engaging: use of arcs, narrative devices, and creativity
- The work is well formatted and makes good use of markdown
- Spelling and grammar is excellent
- Non-English content has an English translation
- The user has significant staked $SCHOLAR and/or $SCRIBE tokens
- If the work is part of a serial story, the author has included navigation to the other parts of the story
On poetry vs. prose
For the first few cycles of this program, we will NOT be looking at poetry or zapfic style writing for entry into Author of the Week. While these are valid entries for the general community, for these showcase AOTW pieces we want to present complete stories or scenes from stories. Remember: Winning posts will end up in a heavily marketed digest to external audiences!
Prose currently represents Scholar & Scribe’s niche best.
This policy may be revisited in the future.
Other notes
- 🥇 The winner of any AOTW will not be eligible for at least 2 weeks following their win
- 🥈 The runner up of any week will have preferential inclusion for the next week
- We do not have a ties policy yet, and will cross that bridge when we come to it :)
- Any evidence of vote manipulation will result in being excluded from all AOTWs indefinitely
