Dami's plight || part 2

in #hive-1992752 years ago

Dami stood still on hearing the gunshot, she went into shock. She had never thought she was going to hear a gunshot in her lifetime, at least not this close to her. She was shivering, "what is going on," she asked herself trying to process what just happened. She heard a grunt, then something thug at her memory, and she remembered her mother asking her to run.
"Oh, mom" God please let my mother be ok.

"You hate her, "a little voice said.

"I don't" she replied the voice, the voice sneered.

Did she really hate her mother? Was hate the emotion she felt towards her mother. She wouldn't call it hate, but rather her defence mechanism, her mask, something to help her cope with the way things her at home. She shut her eyes, I would think about this later she thought, now her mother needed her.

But before she could open her eyes, she heard a deafening scream that pull her from her shock state. She looked down and saw her mother screaming but it wasn't her mother's wails that caught her attention, it was the person her mother was crying over.

It can't be her, her mind denied. I told her to stay put, no, I warned her not to come out of that closet but as she got closer to her mom, her fears were confirmed, there lying on the ground was her sister, Tola. She screamed, her scream topping her mother's. She kept on screaming and calling her sister's name. Turning her head, she saw the burglar, running off. She wasn't concerned about him, it was her sister that demanded her attention, "what do I do" her mind went blank.

"Babe, wake up. I just heard a gunshot from our neighbour's house" Susan tapped her husband. Benjamin shot up from the bed, "what?" He shouted.

"I said.." They both stiffened when they heard the deafening scream.

"Call the ambulance" he yelled at his wife, then ran as fast as his legs could carry him to Dami's house. He broke down the door and entered the house. He saw the two crying and his heart shook. His heart aches for them on seeing the girl on the floor. He quickly got to her and thanked God she was still breathing.

"The ambulance is on its way," his wife said as she entered. Susan saw Tola on the floor, and she ran to Temi wrapping her hands around her.

"My baby" Temi cried

"She's going to be fine"

Susan's heart broke as she consoled the woman. She heard the siren coming towards the house and heaved a sign of relief. The doctors started the surgery to remove the bullet immediately after Tola got to the hospital. The couple waited with the mother and daughter, they couldn't leave them alone in the state they were in.

Temi was pacing, the wait was killing her. Why does it take so long? She wondered.

"How's she" Temi assaulted the doctor when she came out.

"The surgery was successful. The bullet didn't cause any internal damage. She is going to be ok" Temi burst into tears, her baby girl was going to be alright.

"Can we see her?"

"Yes ma'am. But quietly, she's resting"

"Thank you"

They all went in and saw her resting. She looks tired and peaceful.

Dami was relieved when she saw Tola on the bed, she is going to be well, everything is going to be alright, she smiled.

"You should go back home with Susan, I will stay with your sister in the hospital"

Dami opened her mouth to protest but thought better, staying in the hospital with her mother might not be a good idea. She left with the couple, but as they drive farther away from the hospital, a thought occurred to her, "would her mother had the same reaction tonight, if she was the one shot instead of Tola"

To be continued.....

Of course she would have reacted the same way, Dami is her daughter too :) ... I'm glad everyone survived :)

Am sure she would. The love a mother has for her child is unbelievable especially in the face of danger.

So true, even if she doubts the feeling herself!

Interesting developments. Part 3 should be riveting. Glad that the bullet was easy to remove.

Thank you. It definitely would be riveting, I haven't got time to finish it though.

Thank for stopping by @itsostylish

It's incredible friend @lucieagboola, these situations suddenly change people's lives, but the questioning of that woman is very sad, if she were the one on the floor, would her mother react the same? Poor of her 😢🤥

It's amazing how a single action changes our lives entirely.

if she were the one on the floor, would her mother react the same? Poor of her

She didn't feel loved and that was what prompted the question but am sure her mother would have done the same thing for her
